Custer State Park - Blue Bell Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed our stay here, wish we would have reserved it earlier so we could have stayed the two nights we were in the area. Quiet, well kept park as were the bathrooms & showers. We camped at Custer State Park - Blue Bell Campground in a Motorhome.

Blue Mounds State Park, Luverne, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

As a State Park it really was well kept & clean. We enjoyed our spacious campsite, camp fire & the amazing view of the night sky. We were well aware of the water issue before we arrived. They did make allowance for the water issue they are experiencing. They are working on locating a new water source & we look forward to adding this as a stop on our future trips. We camped at Blue Mounds State Park in a Motorhome.

Korte's Checkers Welcome Campground, Welcome, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

What a pleasant surprise! Clean, well kept & quiet RV park. We were on our way home & ran into some nasty weather so we were a "late arrival". Called and even though park office was closed the camp hostess met us, checked us in & aided us to our site. Within minutes, we were checked in, parked & hooked up and cooking dinner. Our hostess was even kind enough to open a can of beans as we forget to pack a can opener. We camped at Korte's Checkers Welcome Campground in a Motorhome.

Holy Smoke Resort, Keystone, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The problem I personally have with this park is that it is advertised as a "Resort". This is simply not true. What it really is, is an over-priced parking spot conveniently located close to Mt. Rushmore. No bathrooms, no showers & NO fires. We couldn't even use our Smokey Joe to cook dinner. You have to have a gas grill. Had I known I guess I would have packed one had it been advertised as such. The spots are at least level & shaded. They do have hook-up for electric, water & sewer. All the RV spots are right next to 16 coming into Keystone, constant vehicle noise. We camped at Holy Smoke Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are shops & restaurants a few miles into Keystone to eat & shop at. There is a Wal-Mart back in Rapid City to stock up whatever things you may need. I would strongly urge other RV'ers to consider what their camping needs are before staying here. We will not be returning.
