Lake George RV Park, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

An established, well laid out RV resort with many amenities to keep you busy. Park has east and west sides with similar amenities and a free trolley to travel the park. Park staff were great and helpful, very clean, interior roads paved and in great condition. Great biking/hiking paths, outstanding dog park we used a lot. It's the type of park you really don't have to leave, we stayed four days and were very happy, will definitely come back. We stayed at places that cost more and didn't offer half as many amenities. One downside, our site 95 wasn't any where near level, our rig wouldn't auto-level and it was hard to manually level, but it was well located so we didn't ask to move. The east side is all back ins and are well spaced out with wide roads so even a novice will not have any problems backing in. The alphabet sites are a complete blacktopped area. We camped at Lake George RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Saco / Old Orchard Beach KOA, Saco, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $105.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the new deluxe patio section, well laid out, excellent furniture and fire pit, utilities well located. Full sun in this area, still have construction going on but not intrusive. Staff friendly and helpful, very clean bathrooms and park, doggy stations throughout the park. Located right off the interstate, less than 5 miles to Old Orchard beach, I biked in 15 minutes. I liked everything about this park but felt it was over priced at least in the deluxe section. We camped at Saco / Old Orchard Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The lobster shack at Port Elizabeth is a must and make time for a day trip to downtown Portland, for boat trips, dining and shopping. In Old Orchard beach used Mom&Pop parking for half the price of the big lots.

Cupsuptic Campgrounds, Oquossoc, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a gem hidden in the Maine forest. Managers and staff friendly and helpful. Camp store has a decent selection. Beautiful park in a beautiful water oriented location. The day use sites allow you to take your chairs, coolers, etc to the water front to enjoy your day by the water. Lake water clear, cool and refreshing. Wifi only at the pavilion, individual bathrooms clean and roomy. Only stayed three days but glad we did, stayed on two different sites 55 & 60, both spacious and utilities well located, enjoyed a nice breeze off the lake on site 55. We camped at Cupsuptic Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

My first time travelling far from the interstates with a 40' fifth wheel. Most roads in poor condition, narrow and potholed, deeply crowned. My wife enjoy the scenic beauty of the area while I drove whited knuckled down the roads. With that said, I would do it again because I enjoyed the tranquil beauty of the area and it was worth it. Traveled RT16 from Gorham, NH and then RT4 & RT27 to I95, it was an adventure and really had no problems towing a 13'6" tall, 40' long fifth wheel.

Twin Mountain/Mt. Washington KOA, Twin Mountain, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first trip to New Hampshire, found Twin Mt. KOA centrally located to area attractions and easy travel from the interstate. We stayed in the new deluxe site #102. It was well spaced on all sides, utilities well located, no trees. Park very well taken care of, staff excellent, good interior roads, clean bathrooms, nice play area and dog park. Will definitely come back, would have rated a 10 but WiFi and cable in new area were still a work in progress. Saw our first moose two miles down the road. We camped at Twin Mountain/Mt. Washington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This area is truly a active vacation wonderland. From tourist attractions like Flume Gorge, Cannon Mt, the cog railroad, the autoroad. To hiking, biking and atv trails. Water sports in the rivers and ponds. Exploring the area for moose. If your bored here it's because you want to be.
