Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $153.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here twice a year in the last couple of years and we like it. The flies can drive you nuts from the cow pastures nearby, but the campground is nice! Our kids like the pool and water slide. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown in a Motorhome.

Endless Caverns Resort, New Market, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This is a unique place and the caverns were really cool to see... However, the description mislead us. I REALLY wish more people would understand what the word 'Resort' means and what 'Big Rig Friendly' means. This is certainly NOT a resort, it is merely an average CAMPGROUND. We had rain for a couple of days while there and since all the roads are gravel and given their grade/elevation, they had to be graded due to erosion. Watch out for the tractor grading, that guy FLYS!!! We have young kids and were very concerned that he wouldn't see them...he really goes fast in tight, populated areas with the tractor while grading and had to do it often which was a bit unnerving. At check in, the office is in an awkward spot for large rigs and you feel as if you'll tip...I mentioned my concern about the hill and was told "people do it all the time". I often drive in the mountains, but I've never had our 45' long 13' 6"tall coach (and tow vehicle) at exactly that sideways slanted angle before which wasn't exactly fun...but we did it. We followed our escort up the long gravel climb, pulled into our heavily wooded site and I asked if they knew if satellite worked and was told "don't know and we don't have cable". Well, the 'resort' aspect had pretty much left us by this time so this wasn't a surprise. lol Anyway... Like I said, this is basically an average campground and the caverns are REALLY cool to check out. We cut our stay short and left three days early as we felt that we'd seen enough of what this campground had to offer. Did it, done it, got the t-shirt...as they say. Check it out and judge for yourself. This really wasn't meant to down the place...just wanted to point out some things and share our experience in the hopes that others didn't have false 'Resort and Big Rig Friendly' expectations like we did from the name. Enjoy, safe travels and have fun! :) We camped at Endless Caverns Resort in a Motorhome.

Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $115.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for over a week. It's a nice park and very close to Colonial Williamsburg and Williamsburg activities. Firewood they sold us was still a bit green and made A LOT of smoke. Had to get wood elsewhere. Otherwise, for the most part, we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Motorhome.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in the new section. It was very nice! Actual fireplaces, not just a fire ring or pit, nice large patios and actual patio furniture with an umbrella. The sites are angled well, so you have a feeling of space between patio area and the neighbor. The road in had some low hanging branches that were a concern (our rig is large 45' plus our tow vehicle and 13'6 tall) and they snapped loudly as we drove under them (cringe) other than that, the park was fine and easy to maneuver in and out of. We had to move due to some erosion/mud issues on one of the sites, but no problem. They were very accommodating. Very nice place and somewhat close to Williamsburg attractions as well. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bayley's Camping Resort, Scarborough, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

Very large park with a long check in line when we arrived. The people behind us and about 2 sites away played their music VERY loud and VERY late. That part wasn't enjoyable at all and the park didn't seem to do anything about it. I guess some people think they're the only ones entitled to enjoy their vacation? Other than that, the place wasn't too bad. We flew kites with our kids in the large field there, rented the pedal cars which was fun and rented a golf cart to get around the park. Like I said it wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't great for the money. The BBQ place that is close to the park was great though! We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Powder Horn Family Camping Resort, Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for about a week. It was a nice campground. They have mini golf, which we enjoyed with our kids and the pools were nice as well. We will go back. It was VERY dry and dusty due to no rain, so the dust clouds were huge when we were backing into our site and made it pretty difficult to see. It is something we definitely remember about the place, but it didn't take away from our stay at all. Just made for the coach needing a good scrub! lol Nice place, we'll go back. We camped at Powder Horn Family Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Normandy Farms, Foxboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. We liked it. Unfortunately for us, they were doing road work in the park next to us while we were there and they dumped a load of dirt/gravel literally at our site so we were trapped. No one told us about this. When we returned to our site from a walk, they had already dumped this pile of rubble at the end of our site behind our vehicle so we couldn't leave. I had to make a stink and they got someone with a loader to move the piles and they apologized. As I said, the place is very nice and we will go back. Hopefully we'll have a better experience. :) We camped at Normandy Farms in a Motorhome.

Riverbrook RV Resort, Rumney, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Since the last review was so dated, I thought it could use a more recent one. I was told this CG is under recent new ownership and the new owners were very pleasant and accommodating and seem very enthusiastic about the place. It is a nice place, wide open, clean and bright. We stayed there due to it being so close to the Polar Caves...and glad we did. Our stay was just recently (Fall), so we didn't get to use the pool. Overall it was decent and we would stay again. We camped at Riverbrook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Glen Ellis Family Campground, Glen, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, well kept campground in a great spot. We stayed here to take our kids to Storyland, since it is so close and we really liked it...we will definitely stay again. It has a nice little playground for the kids in a wide open area. The campground is very well kept and has beautiful views. We had an end site which was HUGE on one side and accommodated our 41' pusher and tow vehicle with plenty of room to spare. The huge trees so close to the road and site entries make it a little tight to get into the sites, but nothing that a little patience couldn't take care of. We would have preferred 50 amps at our site, but they only had 30...not the end of the world and we made do. For the most part, it is really a very nice campground! We liked it. We camped at Glen Ellis Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Wells Beach Resort Campground, Wells Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $93.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here twice this year (summer 2016) and really like this place! Location is fantastic and very convenient to everything. We have small kids and there was a playground right near our site, which they enjoyed. We also played mini golf which is also right there. Plenty of options nearby for good eats if you like to dine out. Lots to do and see in the area and the beach is close by too. Also got the 'lobstah and steamahs' fix I was craving! :) Great spot! We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.
