If you enjoy lush, wooded and private campsites, you'll enjoy this. We went for 3 days and took my mom in an RV. We hiked on some very nice trails and learned so much about the restoration of the natural habitat including grasses and wild flowers from the very nice and knowledgeable camp host. He was amazing and took us through the restored fields and pointed out all the beautiful flowers that were blooming and how they collect the seeds to sow. The park is very blessed to have this man as he is a volunteer and passionate about this beautiful park. He is willing and happy to teach. We camped at Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park in a Motorhome.
If you want to learn more about the natural grasses and wild flowers or see the red barn with 1000 bats in it, go find the campground host! I would love to compliment him by name but it says not to list names. You'll find him and he loves teaching and is very good at it and interesting!
