Konocti Vista Casino Resort and Marina, Lakeport, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park could be great. It has access to the lake and wine country. We called for a reservation and had to call twice before getting an answer. The desk girls (combination hotel clerks/RV park/ convenience store cashiers) were not very helpful. They gave us the door code for the showers but did not tell us that there is a different code for the laundry and that the only access to a bathroom was through a card key locked door into the "workout room". Without the key there is no access to the bathroom. The pad was level. The casino was extremely smoky. This is more of just an overnight stay as there are limited amenities and the staff was not helpful. I didn't even unhook from the truck, just ran my stabs down and had dinner in my kitchen and used my bathroom. We camped at Konocti Vista Casino Resort and Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Pass this one by. There are better RV parks in the area. The casino is not worth the stop either. It also appeared that the motel is under construction as well.

Iron Horse RV Resort, Elko, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, clean, fancy RV resort. Only stayed 1 night. Called the day of our arrival to reserve, was a $5 charge to c.c. (deducted from cost). Site was level side-to-side, but not fore-to aft. After leveling, was not able to back truck under 5th wheel. Carry blocks. They have agreement with nearby hotel for pool and spa. Would stay again. We camped at Iron Horse RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wasatch View Estates and RV Park, Ogden, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

1 night stop, unremarkable facility. Passport type place only, cheap. Restrooms were in a 2 bed/2bath mobile home - kind of weird, but usable & clean enough. We had a full hookup, but did not detach or hook to sewer. Most of this property is a large mobile home park with permanent residents, and while there are lots of rules and regulations posted, many of the places were pretty run down. I would not want to stay here other than one night. The pool was closed for the season. Staff was nice. They do NOT take cash. Several other 1-nighters with us, so didn't feel too out of place. Our pull thru was very very long - an old mobile home pad. 30 ft 5W. We camped at Wasatch View Estates and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA , Arco, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights so we could day-trip to the Craters of the Moon NP (30+ mins away). We did not have a reservation, yet got a decent site for our 30 ft 5W, pull-through, full hook-ups. Cons: windy and flies. Pros: free waffle in the am. The pool was closed for the season. The campground was relatively full, mostly of people passing through like we were - there are not a lot of other options in the area. There is really nothing of note in the town, unless you read up on the history of atomic power, etc. No restaurants of good note, and one overpriced grocery store. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Black Rabbit RV Park, Hamilton, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Seemed to be several full-timers on one side, and visiting campers on the other. The full-timers had treed sites, the passer-thru folks (like us) did not. Worked for us, as it was not scorching hot. River ran behind the property, and saw lots of birds (quail) and small wildlife on property. The bathroom, while generally clean, had 1 logistic issue: the knob to exit was difficult to use and both times I had to use my sleeve to grab and turn it. We camped at Black Rabbit RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Edgewater RV Resort & Motel, Lakeside, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 nights, the 1st 3 of which we utilized our Passport America membership, which made the rate much more tolerable. We used full hookups (W/P/S), & the septic was easy to hook up. This RV park is not 'pretty', (it is a parking lot) and seems to have been a previous KOA , but it is clean and well-maintained. The owner and employees we had contact were clearly intent on keeping the facilities tidy. I would stay here again, with the passport discount. We camped at Edgewater RV Resort & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A site farther back from the main road would be best, however, not much road noise anyway while we were there. This is a good place to stay if you are enjoying the other things to do in Flathead Lake, but not as much if you plan on staying in the RV park all-day, every-day. Very clean!

Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA, Newport, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Huge park, 1/2 is Thousand Trails and 1/2 is KOA. We stayed on the KOA side, in a pull through with power and water. We were told they didn't have septic available at this park, but the pump out station is easy to access and to use.* Plenty of activities, especially for kids, some nice easy trails to hike, and reasonable rates to rent kayaks. The 'lake' is not much to speak of, but it was fun to toddle around in it in boat/kayak.

We were there on Labor Day weekend, and while the park was nearly full, it was so spacious it did not seem chaotic. Would stay there again (30 ft 5W) * I have been informed they may have FHU at some sites. Perhaps double check this with staff when making arrangements. :) We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
