Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Came without reservations traveling on the way home. 6mile drive up mt., somewhat steep and hairpin turns. Campground well maintained with gates that are locked 10pm-7am. We stayed in East Rim sites are spacious, very level water/elec. Yurts, new cabins, group camping and walk-ins available. Nice trails with great views. Firewood available at each section from camp hosts. Playgrounds at each section. Quiet and peaceful place. Not far from town or Lookout Mt. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fall Creek Falls State Park, Spencer, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Largest SP in Tenn. Saw review in Southern Living mag and decided to come. Park is really off the beaten path and you wonder if you are ever going to get there for the first time. We had reservations but the site they sent us to was very small for our rig. While trying to get to check in a branch over the road took off refrigerator vent. Ugh. Next site un-level as are most sites. That is our biggest complaint that sites were way too slanted, and not maintained. Stay away from C section. Golf course nice, Olympic swim pool, horseback riding, zip line and hiking to see falls. Trail maps leave much to be desired. We left early and did get a refund for other days. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Unicoi State Park and Lodge, Helen, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Site was level with pea gravel. Water pressure 80psi. 50,30 &20 amp svc. Sites color coded according to type, sewer & length. Must check in at camp store down in campground not at lodge. Very nice playground and camp store with grocery, interpretive center tv and game room. Many trails to walk, but must pay at Anna Ruby falls due to it being a federal park. Helen a short drive away. Lodge has a restaurant, sitting areas and gift shop. They offer zip line rides but pricey. Trash svc and restroom cleaning done daily. At camp store they have large fire pit with chairs and you can use their firewood for it free. Lake close by many put in their canoe or kayak. We camped at Unicoi State Park and Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for New Years. First site we were on #1, pull thru and level, but issue was tv -Espn. All cable channels were analog and dicent but channel #7 fuzzy. They allowed us to move to#15 and same situation. Park is 10 miles from historic district via hwy17. Park clean and level saw-big rigs, & tt. Plenty for kids to do. Clean bathhouse and nice front office with propane available, firewood and more. We camped at Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Stayed in site 28. My trailer a bullet premier 23'. Site was tight, but I could get trailer and trick in. Fire ring is moveable. Picnic table moveable. Most have poles for clothes line etc. with water and electric close to each other, 30 amp and 15amp plugs. Site was level ,but brush and tree limbs close by. Road in is narrow. Largest trailer I saw was a 24', many tents and pop ups. Campground has code gate. Access to beach is across highway A1A where front gate is located and check in. Board Way, picnic area and bath house by beach parking lot. We camped at Little Talbot State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Paris Mountain State Park, Greenville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Mild weather weekend. Campground road curvy and a little narrow. Most sites are not level so extra chocks are needed and pad is short so big rigs will not fit. Few tt mostly tents or pop ups. Campground not for casual biking since it is hilly. Also it is about 6 miles from Greenville so not much to do around campground. We camped at Paris Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hickory Knob State Resort Park, McCormick, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

SC only resort cg. Has beautiful golf course , motel and cabins, dining open for breakfast lunch and dinner as well as meeting room and Rec areas. Very nice .

But, campground needs major improvements to make a resort. Sites are unlevel due to erosion. Weeds and such need to be cut back from sites. Water pressure measured 3 different times at 85lbs. Use reducer. Bath houses ok but no paper towels or hand dryers. Sites 1-24 very narrow dirt road so no mh or 5vers. Sites 34 and up better level. We camped at Hickory Knob State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.
