Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a busy campground right at the entrance to the North Dakota Badlands. The sites and well laid out but they have put as many sites in the campground as they can. That said, they were clean and efficient and it is the best campground to stay at if you want quick access to the Badlands. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Davidson River Campground, USFS, Brevard, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were easy to get into. We had a site with no water or power. There are very few sites with power and none with water. If you want power sign up very early. We were there 5 nights and had to be very careful about water use unless we wanted to hook up and drive to dump and refill water tank.

We had a small generator we used to recharge the batteries each day. Generator hours are 8 AM to 8 PM. Over all the campsite was nice enough we didn't mind the inconvenience of no power or water hookups.

If you are into hiking and waterfalls this is the place to go. Beautiful area with hikes that range from very easy to Lord Don't Let Me Die. We camped at Davidson River Campground, USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like horses visit the Tryon International Horseshow grounds near Tryon, NC: it is about 30 miles away but worth the trip. Hendersonville is about 18 miles away and a good place to do some shopping and they had several good restaurants. The waterfalls in the area are worth the hike to see.

Honeycomb Campground, Grant, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is right on the lake. We were lucky and picked two of the best campsites for lakefront views. Campground was clean, sites were tight getting into but spaced well apart for the most part. About half the campground is taken up by seasonal sites and they were clean and quiet. Camp staff was knowledgeable and helpful. We camped at Honeycomb Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Shore Hills Campground and RV Park, Boothbay, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this campground the second week of September. It is a commercial campground catering to the Maine Costal area. It was clean, set up for everything from the really big rigs right down to tent camping. The sites were generally level and large enough to be easy to get into and out of. 30 amp power was adequate. No sewers in our area. It was very well run and the people working for the CG were friendly and efficient. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pine Grove Campground and Cottages, Medway, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Pine Grove 4 nights in early September. It is located right on the banks of the Penobscot River and is a nice low-key campground. The sites we were on were a little small but they were right on the river. There were some larger sites located in the campground just away from the river.

We were in a site that had water and electric. Both worked well.

The campground has brand new owners. They took possession just a week or two before we arrived and they had the area clean and ready to use.

Overall we would stay there again when in the area. There were no frills, just a nice quiet, clean campground and that is what we like. We camped at Pine Grove Campground and Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Baxter State Park and Mt Katadin and the new Katadin Woods Memorial area. Do the Woods loop 18 mile loop road. A little hard to find because it is so new, but worth the hunt.
