The Boardwalk RV Resort, Homestead, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park was just an overnight stay for us. Check-in was friendly and they gave us free bread. It seems to have decent gated security. However, our site was the tightest we've ever experienced. It took about a 10 point turn to squeeze into it. The interior roads are also very narrow. Bathrooms were very run down, rusty and dirty. We would not stay here again due to the narrow roads and sites. We camped at The Boardwalk RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Club Naples RV Resort, Naples, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. The pool and spa, though we didn't use them, we're immaculate. There's a very nice clubhouse and the grounds are well manicured. The bathrooms were clean, showers are separate individual rooms outside the bathroom. They are small but sufficient. Check-in was friendly and residents seem very friendly. Mike, the maintenance guy, was very nice and helpful, giving us great info about driving US-41 across south Florida to Homestead. The only negative was that the spaces are somewhat close together and took about a 5 point turn to back into. And beware! There are poisonous snakes in this park. Our neighbor found a Copperhead in her sight and had an employee kill it. You just have to be cautious. Even knowing this we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Club Naples RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

BEWARE of poisonous snakes in Florida! We did a day trip to Naples Pier and watched pelicans dive for fish and watched dolphins swimming. The beach there is beautiful, with white sand. We also enjoyed walking through Third Street South, Naples Downtown.

Beaver Lake Campground, Quincy, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is bare bones but a good overnight stop. It's small, funky and cheap, but FHUs that worked fine. We didn't connect to sewer. As others mentioned, check-in is inside the Marathon gas station. The 2 ladies were friendly enough. They take cash only. We were in site #3 and it was perfectly level...Yay! We would stay here again for an overnighter. We camped at Beaver Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Ocala Sun RV Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, quiet park. We experienced a very friendly check-in. Pool area is very nice, with an outdoor shower and chaises. Bathrooms/showers were very clean. There are 4 toilets and 3 large tile showers. There's a large clubhouse with games, puzzles, etc. Our site was a mix of grass and sand. We paid $24 a night with Passport America. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Ocala Sun RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We saw a black snake in our neighbor's site, which was not poisonous, but gave us a startle. China house restaurant nearby was not much for ambiance (we took it to go) but was yummy. I recommend the vegetable lo mein.

Payne's RV Park, Theodore, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, quiet park, with easy in and out. Friendly owners, easy check-in. We only stayed 1 night on our way through the area. We paid $21.80 after tax, with Passport America. Bathrooms/showers were not fancy but clean enough. Though we didn't use the laundry room, it was clean and spacious. We chose a back-in site with lots of shade, as it was hot and humid. Our site was dirt with a little grass. We used blocks to level easily. The grounds are well kept with a nice pond. We enjoyed watching the geese and ducks with their babies. Other reviews mention smells, we did smell the waterfowl and there were a few chickens behind us near the maintenance shed, but it wasn't bothersome. Only noise was Mr. Rooster, he let us know when to wake up:) But it wasn't a problem. We would stay here again. We camped at Payne's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coming off I-10, be sure to take the first road in with the sign (on the right), which is the entrance. GPS tried to take us in the 2nd road but the 2nd road is the exit.

Three Oaks and a Pine, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is bare bones on ambiance but it was more than sufficient for our needs with full hookups. We used blocks to level easily. Even though it's in a rough part of town, it has excellent security. The drive-in and walk-through gates close at 7:pm and guests need the codes to exit and enter. The whole park is surrounded by a solid fence. We never felt unsafe. Although there's a train yard behind the park the noise from it was intermittent. There is a race track nearby that we heard late some nights. Earplugs solved that. The bathrooms/shower rooms were like new and very clean. Possibly the cleanest we've seen. Laundry room was clean and in good working order. The manager was very friendly and helpful, explaining points of interest and how the city bus system works. We found public transportation to be safe and easy to maneuver. The Jazzy Pass is only $3 per person for 24 hrs of use on any city bus or Trolley. It took us approximately 1/2 hr to get from the park to the French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Three Oaks and a Pine in a Motorhome.

Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

The woman that checked us in was a bit rude and passive aggressive. She admitted she wasn't happy about having to work on Easter. (Not my problem, lady!) As past reviews have stated, this park is just an open field with hook ups. All hookups worked fine. Had to level with blocks which was a bit tricky due to holes and uneven ground. Our site was a combo of dirt, rocks and grass clumps. Roads are a combo of gravel and dirt. We had a thunderstorm while there but never lost power. No frills but a good value at $12, with Passport America discount, for a quick overnight stop. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Coachlight Inn & RV Park, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I don't know where to start. The positives of this park are that it's very easy off/on the freeway, sites are pull through and mostly level. When we checked in, Rick the manager, overcharged us at $25 a night after the Passport America discount ($50 for 2 nights), when it was supposed to be $18 a night. He said the price just went up to $25. He was a bit passive aggressive so I didn't argue the price. We later heard him reduce it to $20 a night cash for 2 other couples because they complained to him. Grrrrr! This place is a major dump. The motel was rundown, the pool area was all closed down so looked nothing like the pics on the Passport America site. They claim to have showers and when we asked where they were he reluctantly gave us a key to the men's only and pointed out that it was on the back side of part of the motel building. He said that the woman's tub looked terrible because it was stained, messed up, etc. and suggested that we both use the men's. He then said, "When you unlock it to go in, just yell 'anyone in here?' before you go in." When we went to look at it we were mortified! It was a disgusting old rundown motel room and once we realized that it wasn't safe to use, due to multiple keys given out, we returned the key and showered in our rig. There were mostly resident RVs here and we felt creeped out while staying at this park. I would NOT recommend it and we'd boondock before we'd stay here again. We were in the first row, I think #5. We camped at Coachlight Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This park might be the cleanest, most well maintained RV park we've ever stayed in. Unfortunately, we only stayed 1 night because we were on our way towards the East coast. The bathrooms/showers were great. And though we didn't use them, the pool area and laundry room were clean and tidy also. There's a pool table in the clubhouse where hubby and I played a quick game. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. They offer their guests a free nightly show in their observatory but it was cancelled that night due to wind. The only negative was that we had no shade at our site. But we would highly recommend this park and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Motorhome.

Paradise RV and Mobile Home Park, Panguitch, Utah

Overall Rating:

This park is very rustic but sufficient for our needs. Bathrooms are rough but clean. Some road noise at night but not enough to keep us awake. Spaces are fairly close but it wasn't full so we had no neighbors right next to us. We would stay here again if only for the value. We camped at Paradise RV and Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.

The lady who checked us in was a bit quirky but friendly and we didn't see much of anyone after that. Tips for other Campers:

We did Capitol Reef National Park, just 10 miles away. Be sure to stop at the historic Gifford House for one of their little pies! In town, Slackers Burgers has great veggie burgers and their shakes are delicious! Also would highly recommend Rim Rock Patio, Baked Spaghetti, salad and garlic bread, great value at $8! Patio out back has an amazing view of the landscape & a fire pit. Note: Rim Rock Patio should not be confused with Rim Rock Restaurant, which is next door but much higher priced.

Mountain Shadows RV Park, Draper, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This park is WAY overpriced! When we checked in we were charged for 4 nights, after me telling them we were booked for 3 nights. I was tired and didn't notice until I got back to our rig. While getting them to credit the extra night, they were not friendly, trying to blame me for the mistake. We were so close to our neighbor (who was a permanent resident) that we couldn't put our awning out. The bathrooms were clean and in good working order...the only positive about this park. We used the pool twice. Once experiencing young kids left alone, running, doing cannonballs, spitting in the pool, hot tub and on the decking...all of which are against the listed rules. When I reported it to the office, she told me the mother was in the office 'watching' them. They were obviously an employee's kids that were allowed to run wild. We would not stay here again due to all of the above. We camped at Mountain Shadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed Arches National Park and Island In The Sky section of Canyonlands National Park while staying here. We also enjoyed the food at the Moab Brewery and Fiesta Mexicana. Moab Made was our favorite shop in town. It offers an awesome array of wares from local artists. There are a lot of fun shops and beautiful galleries in Moab.
