Willow Tree Resort and Campground, Longs, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

A lovely park that is kept extrememly clean, maintained by a marvelous staff. The lake and grounds are very nice. Plenty of room between sites and the length of each site is quite adequate for all types of rigs. I wish there was a cable connection to improve reception. The website was confusing concerning mailing address. We camped at Willow Tree Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Elk Country RV Resort & Campground, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

A beautiful setting with mature trees on the forest side. Walking trails. Helpful, kind staff. If they updated and maintained the bathrooms, showers and laundry plus add cable and wifi they would be a first class campground. We enjoyed staying there for 5 days. We camped at Elk Country RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Office staff was friendly and helpful. No problem pulling Travel trailer into site. Lighted post at each site. Excellent large laundry (2)! The pool is very small and closed because of ashes from nearby fires. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Oceanside RV Park, Haines, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We were stacked together tightly, backed up to a busy road. Construction made things tight. No view. Owner was delightful and very helpful. The site was not long enough for our truck, which we had to angel in to keep it out of the way of neighbors and road. We camped at Oceanside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bear Paw RV Park II (Adults only), Valdez, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Initially confusing - check in at the other Bear Park. But this one is quite nice. Gravel in whole area, full utilities including 50 amp., we backed up on the small boat harbor of Port Valdez. Watching the boats come and go was a treat. The staff was kind and helpful. The laundry room had 4 washers and 4 driers - all worked just fine. Very clean. We stayed here 2 weeks. We camped at Bear Paw RV Park II (Adults only) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lovely small town of people that love Alaska and Valdez. Lots of fresh fish available. Valdez survived 1964 earthquake (the city had to move after) and the Valdez oil disaster (south of here). There are glacier tours - we saw an Orca family, sea lions, otters, puffins, eagles, etc. And Meares glacier is calving and growing! Nice Safeway. Local museums. Town folk are full of stories! Supplies flown in so foul weather can delay shipment - including mail!

Kenai Princess RV Park, Cooper Landing, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

A nice campground with fine hosts that are very helpful. Verizon hardly had any service at all. The laundry is a busy place as many community people use it. They do not have a website or direct phone number which made communication very difficult. Utilities worked just fine. We camped at Kenai Princess RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful area on the Kenai Peninsula. Many rafting trips available. We used Kenai Riverdog, owned by Kayce, a grand tour guide with a catamaran raft that was very stable. The lodge is just up the road with grand views and food and gift shop available.

Tips for other Campers:

There is so much to do. Drive the East End Road to see mountian and glaciers. Great restaurants and shops. Grocery store is good. A water taxi on Homer Spit will take you anywhere along the bay, inexpensively. Bald eagles by the beaches. Homer Spit is fun with fishing charters and sightseeing charters, as well as a ferry. Nice people and lots to do. Best views in the world out my windows! Would definitely return!

Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park, Trapper Creek, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are tree lined which provides privacy. Staff very friendly and helpful. All services excellent but no cable tv available. The laundry room is complete with a large table for folding! There was a good bit of rain while we were here and we appreciated the gravel site that was level. They offer gasoline, propane, a small store and cafe on site. There is a covered area with tables and grills available to campers. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
