Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice large and very attractive RV park with many orange trees throughout, but there are issues. Paved streets make for easy access to your large pull through lot but everywhere else is filled with gravel with lots of dirt and dust. Can't help but bring dirt and pebbles into your coach. Zero grass! Most importantly, trains go by every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day blasting their horns. Add to that the highway traffic noise and it makes for a difficult nights sleep. Honestly, I liked the park visually, with all the right modern amenities but the trains drove us crazy. Give it a try as long as you are aware of the issues. Priced at $45 with Good Sam's Discount. Big Rig and dog friendly. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park, Redmond, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV park and worth the price of under $35. Level concrete pads, asphalt streets, 50 amps, good water pressure, picnic table and barbecue stands on every site. Plenty of TV channels via digital antennae. Not many trees, pretty wide open and easy to navigate with wide streets. Big rig friendly, very dog friendly. Minor issue is an airport nearby with jets taking off between 6-6:30 am and air traffic throughout the day Train tracks are also near enough that it can be noisy at times with whistles and track noise. Some days trains seem to run more than others. Nice staff, clean facilities and overall, a very nice stay. We camped at Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park in a Motorhome.

StoneRidge Golf and Recreational Community, Blanchard, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Spent several days here in our 40' motorcoach. Nice concrete pads, paved streets, very well maintained grass throughout, full amenities including a wonderful and spacious, well maintained dog park. Nice public golf course available within Stoneridge resort (for a fee), plus many of the 75+ lots are nicely developed. Reason I did not give it a 10 rating is because #1- there is no cable TV and you only get one channel, ABC (channel 4) on digital antenna. You better have satellite if you stay here. #2- this resort is very remote, located close to the very, very small town of Blanchard. Nearest grocery store is 12 miles north. This resort is truly in the middle of nowhere but is very high end and beautiful. We camped at StoneRidge Golf and Recreational Community in a Motorhome.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Park has plenty of pull through gravel sites, with gravel roads. I have to agree with one review, the sites are not very level. I have a 40' Class A motorhone and my leveling jacks raised one side of the coach so much that both back wheels were several inches off the ground. Full service sites, 50A, water and sewer. Be warned, the water pressure is huge, over 75 PSI. I was not notified of this when I checked in but luckily put a restrictor on when hooking up. Grass between sites and the sites are well spaced along with a picnic table. Some highway, train and plane noise from nearby airport. All in all, not a bad park but it rates only 3 stars. Nice staff and easy on/off to expressways. No cable but plenty of major channels via antenna. We would stay here again, especially for one night. Big rig friendly. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Visalia / Sequoia National Park KOA, Visalia, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed over 1 night on our travels south in CA in our 40' motorhome. Near Sequoia National park. Lots of gravel and dirt, little grass, kind of dusty. If it rained this park would be a muddy mess. But there are some decent amenities like pool, dog park, propane, pleasant owners and staff, nice reception area, etc. No street noise but the trains are not too far away. We camped at Visalia / Sequoia National Park KOA in a Motorhome.

The Lakes RV & Golf Resort, Chowchilla, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park has many really nice amenities and upon arriving I thought I really found a gem. Clubhouse is very nice, gated park, paved streets and pads, pull throughs, nice staff, swimming pool, small pond, not much street noise and a golf course that you can play. Sounds good. However, many of the cement pads are broken very badly, Gras through out the park is dead, dog park is a mess with only dirt and little grass and around each power pole all there is is dirt. Add a little morning dew or sprinklers that cone on and you have a muddy mess with shoes caked in mud and dirty dog feet. They need some major renovation on all pads and either get some grass growing or put down stone to prevent so much dirt and mud. All in all an average experience but it could have been 5 stars. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

New Frontier RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped at this park to overnight. What a great place. Relatively new park but very quiet. Far enough off I-80 and the railroad tracks across the freeway to not have much noise. Immaculately clean, big pull through sites, some paved, some gravel. All facilities are first class. This was truly a wonderful stay and I highly recommend it. Crooked Creek Resort & RV Park, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

I cannot recommend this park highly enough. We had initially made a 7 day reservation at the nearby KOA but after 3 hours cancelled and looked for other options. We found this gem of a park not too far way and loved our visit. They have cable TV, great WiFi and 4G cell phone service, none of which are found at the KOA. The owners could not have been more friendly or helpful. They are originally from the south and bring that southern hospitality to their family owned park. We would highly recommend that you stay here. Only minor issues are all sites are back in, no pull throughs, but the owner directs you to your site and helps you back in easily. Water pressure is a little low but no big deal. Loved our stay and we are so glad we found this park and would definitely come back again. Give it a try, you will not be sorry.
