St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA, Eureka, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This was a good location for us to visit family. Big rig friendly. Decent campspaces. Sites are narrow but not too bad. We had a space where our satelite worked. Didn't try the cable tv. We were parked close to the road and the train noise is loud, but after a day, barely noticed. Lots of trains!! Are all campgrounds in the Midwest on train tracks?? We're not KOA people, but if you're traveling with kids, they would love it. Lots for kids to do. We would stay again because it's close to our family. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Huge campground that was practically empty when we were there. Great overnight camping. Was challenging to find entrance, but we found it. We were able to pull right into a site, then realize it's really two sites. Big rig friendly when not crowded. We would camp there again. FHU with 50 amp. No problem getting satelite, but not many OTA tv stations. We camped at Kansas State Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

The Campus RV Park, Independence, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Decent place to park overnight while visiting Truman museum. Nothing fancy, big rig friendly, 50 amp full hookups. Near the train tracks but with windows closed, we didn't even notice. Guess after traveling the plains states, we're getting used to it. Follow directions on website otherwise you'll be driving through the church parking lot like we had to do to get turned around. We camped at The Campus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Covered Wagon Campground, Abilene, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great location to visit Eisenhower Museum. The back of the campground opens up into wide, long spacious pull through sites. Plenty of space for our big rig with tow car hooked up. Open sky for satelite. Verizon was strong. We were led to our space. All gravel roads and sites. We had full hookups. Oh .........and the train horns weren't loud at all, way off. But where in the plains can you camp without trains?? We camped at Covered Wagon Campground in a Motorhome.

Enjoyed Eisenhower Museum. We were told it's getting a major update next year and it needs modernization. Had dinner at Brookville Hotel which is not a hotel at all. Fried chicken dinner and all the fixes for one price, good home cooking.

Riverside Park Campground, Beatrice, Nebraska

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly. 50 amp service. Full hookups. There are only 8 spots in this city park. There are a few work campers here. Called office and was able to pay with credit card, no camp host. Sites are nice and more spacious than a commercial CG. Verizon was strong here. Not much OTA channels. Draw back no reservations. Beatrice is small town with lots of charm. Great architecture is many of the downtown buildings. We were for two nights. We camped at Riverside Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Buffalo Bill Ranch State Recreation Area, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This was just an overnight stop. Big rig friendly with 50 amp service in some sites. All gravel and long gravel dusty road into campground. Bring your own water and empty holding tanks. No dump site here. Thought spaces were nicely spaced, not too close. Good Verizon signal and no problem getting satelite signal. $14 to camp. $8 to enter. We camped at Buffalo Bill Ranch State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Salt Lake City KOA, Salt Lake City, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Well maintained. Big rig friendly. 50 amp service with spacious sites. Much better than most KOA. Our space was just long enough RV and car but looked like they had longer sites. Office staff was great. Wi-if worked. Thought it's a little pricey but it's a great central location. Free cable tv. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Double Dice RV Park, Elko, Nevada

Easy overnight park right off interstate. Big rig friendly. We did not disconnect tow car, stuck out a little bit, but park wasn't very busy. It's mid October and cold. Didn't hear a thing outside. Sites are wide, with table. Full hook up with 50 amp service. Good cell service here. We camped at Double Dice RV Park in a Motorhome.

Likely Place RV & Golf Resort, Likely, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

What a gem! Big rig friendly spaces. We were just passing through the area, and found campground on RV Park Reviews. Sites were spacious. Had cell service and satellite. 3 OTA channels. Plugged address into gps and drove right to it. Lovely mountain views. They had a telescope in the office that you could borrow to star gaze. We would "likely" stop here again if we were ever in the area. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We loved it there! Alot of big rig friendly spots! Incredible views. Couldn't get our satelite to work there, think we were blocked by trees but plenty of OTA channels. Water and electric only. We moved here and it was so much nicer then in town camping. Did I mention the view was great- saw an eagle in the tree and deer walking through campground. Looks like it fills up on weekends, we were there mid week without a reservation in the off season. We camped at Salt Creek Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Bruceport County Park, South Bend, Washington

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We were in the full hook up area and no one was next to us, so a real pleasure to camp here in a Big Rig. Otherwise, it would be real close. Spaces are long but narrow. Not many big rv sites. Satelite worked, cell phones worked. Not a destination for us, just a nice quiet place to overnight. Right on rt 101. Sewer is a little far back, but for the price it's fine! Level too. We camped at Bruceport County Park in a Motorhome.

Gilgal Oasis RV Park, Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, very small, very tight getting around. Narrow spaces Lots of rules. Great staff and they very friendly and very helpful. Not easy parking for big rigs but it can be done on the outside row. Didn't even try using wifi. Satelite and Verizon worked good. Beautiful park and well cared for, they just need a stretcher to widen everything by a few feet and it would be super. We camped at Gilgal Oasis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Maple Grove RV Resort, Everett, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This is the smallest piece of real estate we've ever rented for our 44' Big rig. We actually sticking out a little bit on both ends. Very common around the park. The space was so tight, that the car could barely fit, had to get out of car before he pulled in. But we did fit. Very close, but no issues getting into site or around the park. Very nice office staff. Great location for visiting Seattle and the Boeing tour. Not a lot of options close to city. All paved. Couldn't get their wifi to work but Verizon was good. If you're in season you definetly need a reservation. We had difficulty finding last minute camping. We camped at Maple Grove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lighthouse by the Bay, Blaine, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

There are mostly long term rentals but they have about a dozen or so spaces in the front for travelers like us. This is an open field, with hookups. We left RV here and drove car to Vancouver. Big rig friendly. Good satelite reception in open field. Not a pretty place but nice place to park when sightseeing in the area. Good Verizon signal. Birch Bay state park is not big rig friendly! We camped at Lighthouse by the Bay in a Motorhome.

The only reason it's not a 10 is the road and train noise. Very big rig friendly. Great location for exploring the valley. Would definetly come back here. Paved spaces with full hookups. Unfortunately our satelite would not work, guess it was the tree next to us, but we had lots of OTA channels and strong Verizon. I could never get connected to their wi-fi.
