Palo Duro RV Park, Canyon, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

They seem to automatically give everybody the "discounted" rate of $25. We had made a spur of the moment decision to visit Palo Duro Canyon. Found the campgrounds in the park full so backtracked here. This is a nice, clean, convenient place to park for a few days. We camped at Palo Duro RV Park in a Motorhome.

Morefield Campground (NPS), Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the no hookup section of the park. As others have noted this is an older National Park campground and was not designed with large RVs in mind. It took us a couple of tries to find a site where we could get level, but to us that was a minor inconvenience. We really enjoyed our stay here, and we found the campground delightful. Quiet and peaceful, just as we like it. We were her 4 nights and in that time we never saw the campground get anywhere near full. This is the first campground we've been in where we found the WIFi useful. We even streamed Netflix in the evenings! It's a good thing too, as the cell reception was nearly non-existent. We camped at Morefield Campground (NPS) in a Motorhome.

Sweetwater Forest Family Camping Resort, Brewster, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in early April, just after the park opened for the season. It was mostly empty so gloriously quiet. The woman manning the check-in desk was pleasant and helpful. She gave us a choice of sites and we took a short walk to check them out and make our selection. They do have sites suitable for larger rigs, but they also have some really tight, steep, twisty roads leading to sites for small rigs or tents, and you do not want to inadvertently turn down one of these roads with your 40' motorhome and toad. Be sure you know the route to your site. Our $45 rate reflects the early season discount of $10. We camped at Sweetwater Forest Family Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It's the Cape. Come here to do all the Cape things; beaches, bike riding, eating seafood and ice cream, etc.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

It was off-season when we stayed so I'm not going to try to rate the amenities. The water park and playgrounds and other fun family stuff looked like they were in good condition, but everything was shut-down for the season. The staff we dealt with were pleasant and helpful. The site was reasonable sized but not overly spacious. The utilities were all in good shape and worked well. There is a lot of traffic noise. The campground is sandwiched between a major local arterial road and a highway. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Wompatuck State Park, Hingham, Massachusetts

This is exactly what I look for in a state park campground; roomy sites with good separation, clean, quiet, and peaceful. We camped at Wompatuck State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the history of the park. This was a munitions depot during World War II and there are remnants visible throughout the park including the campground. Miles of paved and unpaved trails for cycling, running, and walking.
