Air Capital RV Park, Wichita, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay, just off the interstate toll plaza. Like the others have said, it's mostly concrete, very level, really tidy. The grass area at back of property was adequate for our dogs, wifi non existent. Water pressure was no joke- they said it was 90psi, so a regulator is a must. Our filter is inline before the regulator and the water pressure blew the gasket. Regular price is $54/night, which is entirely too expensive for just an overnight stay with no amenities. We camped at Air Capital RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA, Sallisaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stop, so we didn't use the bath house, laundry or pool, but all looked nice and well maintained. The pool and volleyball court were both busy the entire visit, so definitely a hit with families. Decent water pressure, small but adequate dog park. walking trail area was nice. We were not able to put out of awning because of a tree, but other than that, the site was level and hookups were easy. We did hear a train whistle several times throughout the night, but no traffic noise. Would stay here again when driving through. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Meadow Family Campground, Townsend, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

Price reflects daily rate; we stayed 26 days and instead of charging us the daily rate, they charged us the monthly rate of $950 (that was nice of them!). It was a nice park, level site, good cable, not so good wifi (we use our own anyway). The owners do well in the maintenance department, you can tell they take pride in their property. The dogs really enjoyed the fenced dog park area. Laundry was reasonably priced and worked well. We had planned to leave very early on departure day, but had to wait until the gate is unlocked (it was a little before 7 that day) so plan accordingly. We'd definitely stay here again when in the area - very convenient for all the things we wanted to do. Able to head into Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge complete with all that hustle and bustle and still come home to the peace and quiet of the RV park - definitely the quiet side of the Smokies! We camped at Big Meadow Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Okaw Valley Kampground, Brownstown, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stop, cute little park. nice walking area around lake and back of property for the dogs to stretch their legs after a travel day. Bathhouse was clean, water pressure decent. Friendly folks at checkin, easy on/off for interstate, everything we needed to be comfortable. We camped at Okaw Valley Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Family that owns the campground is wonderful; they were very pleasant. Park was clean, well maintained. Site was level, and roomy. Dog park was massive. Laundry - plenty of machines and all worked well for us. We were able to pick up several over air tv channels, so able to view local channels even without cable. They delivered fire wood to our site so I didn't have to haul it back, and $5 bought a good sized bundle (we shared it with neighbors). Convenient for all the all RV facilities that we needed to visit in that area. We didn't use the pool, but it looked so inviting and everyone seemed to be enjoying it. We'd definitely stay here again. (one of our neighbors visited last year and said that they property had been upgraded a good bit in the past year, so kudos to the owners on all the upgrades, it's nice!). Only downside I can think of for the property is that there were ant beds everywhere, even with all their maintenance, and we sprayed our site, and new hills popped up every day, not the invading your house ants, just have to be careful where you walk irritations). We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Rise and Roll Bakery in Elkhart has cinnamon caramel donuts that MUST be tried (okay, we tried those and the apple fritters, and the lemon and the bismark, and pretty much everything else - all were amazing!). Someone wrote a review on it and called their donuts Amish Crack - definitely addictive! don't skip this treat!

Indian Springs Campground, North Bend, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight spot, very few choices in the area, so it was adequate for what we needed. Considerably overpriced for what you get. The map showed a walking trail, but if it was there, it was overgrown, which meant there was no where to walk the dogs unless we went to the front of the property or on to a neighbor's grass on the lake front. Probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Indian Springs Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Clarksville RV Park & Campground, Clarksville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Quick overnight stop. We were on the row closest to the interstate and it was very loud (thank goodness for good insulation in our rig). The site was nice, pretty level, room to spread out a bit. Pam in the office was really nice, helpful. nice little store. There were lots of squirrels throughout the property, and my dogs loved barking at them! It was convenient on/off for the interstate. We'd come back if in the area. We camped at Clarksville RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Midway RV Park (Military FamCamp), Mid-South Naval Support Activity, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Several cul-de-sacs (8 sites in each) make up the park, all back-in sites, and plenty of room to maneuver into your site, no matter which one you pick (you do not reserve a site number, you just choose an empty one). We also had a rental car for our stay and had room for our tow vehicle and the rental at our site. can't beat free laundry. restroom/shower was clean, but old and needed attention immediately - soft spots in the floor, the bathroom door fell off the hinges when I closed it. I was sweating the barriers at the gate getting on and off base, but taking it very slow was the way to go. We plan to come back later in the year, and won't hesitate to stay here. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Marion Campground & RV Park, Marion, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The entire campground was flooded from the rains of the previous days. Honestly they shouldn't have rented that site because it was mostly under water, but we didn't realize it until we got in there and it was getting late. Since we had boondocked, we were looking for a place to have full hookups. We have a 42' fifth wheel, and had less than a foot on each side of the rig to the trees once the slides were out. We weren't able to use the sewer because it drained uphill. Trees needed trimming because there was no way to avoid branches as we were leaving. won't stay here again, but can see why those that need to use the VA hospital would. We camped at Marion Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Crossville / I-40 KOA , Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay, but we'd come back to stay longer in the area. The park itself was neat, they love their critters - we had a very friendly bunny that hung out right outside the rig. The dogs liked being able to run off some energy in the fenced in dog park, and had their first encounter with a curious horse from the field next to the park. I used the shower, and just as I had hoped, the water was hot and the pressure was great! We camped at Crossville / I-40 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Rutledge Lake RV Park, Fletcher, North Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay, convenient to interstate. Gated so you're given a key pass (like a credit card) to enter. Our site was a long site, level with several blocks under the jacks. We had to share water with the next site, so extremely low water pressure. When we pulled into our site (60) there was no one in the site in front of (52) so we would have had no problems getting out, but someone came in so we actually had to back our fifth wheel out of the pull through site because the roads are so tight and everyone was parked in the road. We left early, before the office opened, and there is no drop area for the gate card. I put the card in an envelope with our site number on it under the door, but still received an email telling me to return the card. Not sure we'd stay here again, especially since it was so expensive. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bowling Green KOA, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here every year while visiting family in the area. We were in the pull-through area, which is closer to the interstate. The road noise is noticeable, but we didn't hear it when the doors/windows were closed. Staff is always nice. Cell service for both AT&T and Verizon worked well. Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military FamCamp), Goose Creek, South Carolina

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

older park, but great value, and convenient to everything in the area. We stayed here for 4 months, and while it wasn't fancy, we felt safe. It's in need of repair (playground, roads, fire pit area) and I heard they were going to close for renovations, but no time frame was given. When we're back in the area, we'll stay again if we can. We camped at Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a monthly rate of $750 (we did receive notice that the price will increase to $925 in January because of upgrades they are doing). The place was pretty huge, and most spots could handle any sized rig. Staff was friendly. Overall the place was good; we'd stay here again if we were in the Charleston area. Having said that, there were some negatives. It's about a 1/4 from the front to the back - you have to navigate over 11 sets of speed bumps/humps, it's borderline ridiculous. Because we were 'monthly', we had to submit a picture of our rig and tow vehicle before they would accept our reservation. They also did a 'meet and greet' after we set up to make sure we had everything in order, hose under rig, sewer hose off ground, etc. None of those things were deal breakers, but kinda odd. water pressure came in at 38PSI, the office said normal is 40, which wasn't enough to fill our toilet bowl, so we had to fill the tank and use the water pump. And as someone else said, 4 washers, and 2 dryers isn't near enough for the amount of sites (although they work very well). We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The shopping center just past the campground has pretty much everything you need.. Publix, frozen yogurt, pizza, hibachi, a pub style restaurant, nail salon, UPS store, bank and a vet (who was wonderful with our two dogs, definitely recommend them). Don't waste time trying to turn left out of the campground if there is any traffic. Just turn right and then right on to Bees Ferry, right on Jerry McConnell to get you back to the interstate. Much safer, less frustration.

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

overnight stop, cute campground, just a bit off the interstate, so some highway noise, but we didn't hear it inside the RV. They escorted us to our site, which was probably the longest site we've ever had - 42' fifth wheel, disconnected the truck, pulled it forward and still had plenty of room behind rig and in front of truck. Plenty of shade trees there but still able to get satellite. water pressure was low. We'd stay here again if we were driving through. We camped at Magnolia RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
