Ontonagon Township Park and Campground, Ontonagon, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Did not stay on lake front (too windy)but we were able to see lake from our pit fire. Campground staff was very helpful they even called restaurant to find out if they had grilled fish besides deep fried for us. And Roxey's did. Campsite was fine. We noticed that their playground was very nice, they even had two wheelchair swings--one for a child and another one for adult. Seldom see that offering. They have four disc golf baskets. Wifi worked great. Beach area access was right there and enjoyed watching the sun set both nights. We forgot our flashlight but walk way to rest room/ shower building was well lit. The only very tiny thing wrong was that the outside office building does not light up their directions well for late comers. We camped at Ontonagon Township Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

James N. McNally Campground, Grantsburg, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. Quiet. Bathroom there was vandalized so is locked up from 10:00pm to 7:00 am. Unsure if police roam through or not. Bathroom was clean but very dark inside especially shower area. Wood River edges campground so it is pretty. Site had asphalt pad surrounded by grass. Level and easy to back into. We came here to see Crex Meadows- beautiful! Their visitor center is run by volunteers so is not open on weekends unless there is a special event. We camped at James N. McNally Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Crex Meadows. Their visitor center is not open on weekends. They do have special events on some weekends. Interesting place. If you drive through Crex Meadows be prepared for dirt roads. It is huge-30,000 acres! A bird hunters paradise. It has a picnic area with lovely views.

Eat breakfast at Cafe on Main- delicious.
