Brown County KOA (formerly The Last Resort RV Park) , Nashville, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Check in was quick & escort to site was kind enough to assist with backing & leveling our TT. Our site was full hookup with firepit & picnic table. Site was gravel pad, not much grass around, just gravel covered by leaves. Roads were dusty as no one seemed to observe the 5mph speed signs. Nice enough walking "trail" for the dogs that led to the small "dog park". We made do tossing a ball cross corner for our lab & shepherd to run & play. Was nice to have a place to turn them loose for a bit. This was the only location that poop bags/trash can were available. There were no other trash cans but dumpster at entrance to campground. Showers/bathroom nearest site were great combo "suites" with toilet, sink, shower w/removable shower head & baby changing table. Bath/shower/laundry near office were good & clean too. Virtually no wifi strength the further from the office your site sits. All sites have cable plugs but we didn't use. We camped at Brown County KOA (formerly The Last Resort RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is about 3 miles from the Art District/Crafty tourist area of Nashville. We made the mistake of coming to visit the town of Nashville in October and the traffic was so backed up we decided to go in the opposite direction. We toured the Brown County Winery & Bear Wallow Distillery instead of sitting in traffic for 2+ hours. Took over 30 minutes to go half a mile to get back to the campground after the Winery/Distillery.

Cumberland Mountain State Park, Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Campground offers free WiFi, although spotty service. Sites are really close none too level, paved pad with electric & water. Some sites have sewer but one dump station available near camp store. Had to park truck at angle to keep nose out of traffic. Nice bath houses with foamy soapy and good water pressure. No hiking trails from campground, have to go across park to restaurant area to hike, boat rental and restaurant all in same area. Nice lake to fish. Great buffet for dinner at restaurant if you want a break from campfire and nice gift shop. Drove about 5 miles into Crossville and found dog park to let pups run off leash. Also, plenty of grocers and retailers nearby if you need to stock up. We camped at Cumberland Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground, Tiptonville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend and it was very crowded. The sites are tight & lots of trees making it a tight squeeze to get in/out of campsite. Close to highway but not too noisy. No real hiking trails from campground. There are 3 bath houses but only 2 have showers & when it rains you have to wear mud boots to get to them. They're not very clean with no ac so you feel just as sweaty after you shower as you did going in. But do have foamy soap & strong water pressure. The sites are paved/gravel & fairly level but if you're a tent camper you are liable to be soaked from the ground up after a rain. We were swarmed w/ mosqitos, saw snakes, ducks, & crawfish all in our camping area. Each site has fire ring/grill, electric & water but no real wifi or antenna service. Couple good diners nearby if you want a break from camp. Museum is nice and worth an hour to visit. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Bledsoe Creek State Park, Gallatin, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Nice & fairly level campsite with quiet and spacious layouts. Our site had fire pit & grill with large picnic table and electric & water. We stayed in a site just 30 feet from lake shore. Easy access for putting in a kayak or fishing from the bank. Plenty of wildlife; ducks ran through camp often and deer could be seen on trails. Nice playground area for the kids.

Only 1 concern: There were No trash cans around except at bathroom or dumpster on way out of campground. Would have been nice to have one in the loop we were on.

Bathroom facilities are clean, flushable toilets, and showers are plenty big. The showers even have a removable shower head (BONUS), although the showers are separated by a small curtain so privacy is somewhat lacking.

Hiking trails are well maintained and variety of difficulty. Camp hosts were friendly and did drive through on a regular basis. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bledsoe Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wapakoneta KOA, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Level sites are close together but have decent amount of yard. Tiny dog park for tiny dogs. It's not so good for larger dogs but there's a big field to play Frisbee. Great shower/bathhouses with good pressure & hot water. Friendly staff, love the lil cafe- ordered a personal pizza for quick dinner & delivered to site in 15 mins. WiFi service works great too. Will definitely consider coming back. Next to Interstate but far enough that it's just a quiet white noise distraction. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff. At registration, we were notified that they recently had a lot of rain so the original site we selected for our reservation would be really soft so they recommended changing the site. We were allowed to take a deluxe campground site of choice so we could be near the dog park. Love the BIG dog park area, large enough to play fetch with my dogs and they offer potty bags for picking up after your pooch. Plenty of yard w/each deluxe site but gravel lot is not very level. Ground really soft & muddy from recent rains. Only real complaint is that there is ONLY 1 shower/bathroom for entire campground which means you have to hike to reach it & there is no direct trail once you cross the walking bridge over the creek. You either have to walk thru campsites/cabin sites or take long way around through park, so be sure to bring hiking boots. Plus, it took almost 2 minutes to get hot water with barely any water pressure. Bonus fact, KOA is right next door to an RV dealership & a McDonald's and fuel station should you need to visit either. BTW, WiFi worked fine for us. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Indian Creek Camp & Conference Center, Tecumseh, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for several days the end of August 2016. This is a wonderful campground & very well maintained by a friendly family. Plenty of activities to keep children entertained (fishing, mini golf, jump pad, swimming pool, paddle boats, hiking trails, zip-lines, rock climbing, RC car trails, and Llamas!!) Variety of sites, some with full hookup and patios, fire pits, plenty of space between campsites. Bathhouses are clean and plenty of warm water but pressure could be a little stronger. Reasonable rates and safe environment. We hope to make this our annual family gathering place. We had a "prime rate" site but with the Good Sam discount and an extra discount for early week camping, it was more than reasonable. They also offer a laundry facility and delivery for firewood. We camped at Indian Creek Camp & Conference Center in a Travel Trailer.
