Vallecito Resort, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Superb park! Very friendly and helpful staff, everything well maintained, pretty location. Rate based on PA discount. Unlike many parks, the permanent residences are well-kept and actually appealing. Will definitely return, maybe for a longer stay than 5 nights - would be a good place for a month or two! Nice place. We camped at Vallecito Resort in a Motorhome.

Hide-A-Way at Pagosa Pines RV Park, Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very worn out park. Seems poorly maintained, grass sites. Saw lots of dog doo all over. Too much money for what you get. Won't return. We camped at Hide-A-Way at Pagosa Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

AOK Camper Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Rate based on PA discount.Very basic park, be sure to check electrical stand before parking (took me two tries). Has some very transient folks, dogs running loose, kids unattended (although cute). Park is good for a one- nighter. We camped at AOK Camper Park in a Motorhome.

Colorado River Thousand Trails, Columbus, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Much like the many great 1000 Trails preserves of yesteryear . . . fairly simple, well groomed, not TOO many leased sites (like so many other 1000 Trails parks are now!). Seems to be pretty good member-generated gatherings, assisted by a good park manager. Other staff members are good, too. We camped at Colorado River Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Tropic Winds RV Resort (55+ Park), Harlingen, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

Good place to hang out for a while. Mostly Winter Texans here for several months, but about 40 sites are designated for Thousand Trails members. This was our third time here. Tuesday night's hamburgers are very good! We camped at Tropic Winds RV Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

IB Magee Beach Park, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great place, pleasant help in the office. With some gravel spread on the parking pads and the elimination of some mighty big puddles when it rains, I'd give this place a 10. We camped at IB Magee Beach Park in a Motorhome.

Walnut Grove RV Park, Merriam, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The new park management does not pay as much attention to tenant rules compliance as did the previous group. Dogs were often a nuisance, improper vehicle parking was not corrected, and the trash dumpster overflowed routinely. One tenant had about a dozen dogs out every day in make-shift cages and they barked constantly which got other dogs in the area riled up also! This place is too small to not manage these things better. Previously, it was common to see management walking about dealing with issues. This time there was nobody outside. All the staff stayed in the office. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Fanny Hooe Resort & Campground, Copper Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Seemingly an adequate park with grass sites and some shade. Electric and water utilities good, dump area convenient and clean. Gentleman behind desk was friendly and helpful. I would rate this park higher except for the fact there was goose droppings all over. No apparent activity to control or clean up. We camped at Lake Fanny Hooe Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

St Clair--Thousand Trails , St Clair, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2012
Overall Rating:

Fairly typical Thousand Trails Preserve - could be super, but needs some attention. Park was nearly full for Labor Day weekend, so thing were busy. Family Center, showers, restrooms, roads all need to be maintained better. Pretty nice location for a day trip to Detriot/Dearborn attractions. Close to excellent little St. Clair and the big ships on the river. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We camped at St Clair--Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.
