Rancho Jurupa Park, Riverside, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park. Lots of grass and trees. There is a Lake View section that seems to be packed tightly. We were in the Cottonwood section that had huge sites with large lawns and cement pads. No cable. Supposedly there was WiFi but we could not get it to work. Pretty little lake. Apparently the sprinklers came on overnight—Fire ring was swamped, no way could wood burn there. Super nice check in. We camped at Rancho Jurupa Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cochiti Lake COE , Pena Blanca, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We love this park. We would probably not love it in the summer though—no shade except the covered picnic tables. Free nice warm showers. Spacious sites. Some have no hookups, some have electric only and some have electric and water. Really nice park ranger. Some sites level, some a little less so. The sites higher up have such beautiful views plus we had colorful sunrises and sunsets. This park is in between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. All sites have cement picnic tables, some covered picnic tables. Swim beach. We camped at Cochiti Lake COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Do NOT miss hiking Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument slot canyon. (Take lots of water.) We stayed 5 days but had to book 2 different sites. So hard to answer questions about the site.

Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park, Quanah, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in the middle of nowhere. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery on the way. The office is closed on Sundays so the lady called us on Saturday to tell us our site number and explained how to get to the site. She was very nice. She came by to greet us Monday morning. Utilities worked well. There was good cable TV. We camped at Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hords Creek Lake, Lakeside Campground COE, Coleman, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

The best bargain ever. Stunning campground. I think every site is on the lake. The views are gorgeous. We were in a pull through with electric and water. There is a covered cement picnic table and a fire ring. There is a swim beach roped off with buoys, a kids play structure, bathrooms and views. Check in very friendly. AT&T worked a little for WiFi. We camped at Hords Creek Lake, Lakeside Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

The Vineyards, Grapevine, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

OK, my review is specific to the site we had. It could be so different for another site. We had what they call a Gold site. If you want to kick back in an extraordinary place for a bit, "go for the gold." Our site 83 was level cement with a huge patio, grass, wood deck with a bench overlooking the lake, picnic table and fire ring with tons of room for guest vehicles. If you can spring for it just once, in my opinion, it is so worth it to get a Gold site. In general, good WiFi and cable. Extras like free donuts and coffee on Sunday morning, wine tasting. Sandy swim beach with lounge chairs. Kids playground. Lots of ducks, geese, grackles, Blue Heron, White Egrets. One negative: 2 laundry rooms for a huge park. In one there was only 1 out-of-order washing machine and the other had 3 that worked fine. NO air conditioning in laundry! Our site had no shade, so might not enjoy in the middle of summer. No pool. We camped at The Vineyards in a Fifth Wheel.

Malden Lake Campground COE, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

ANTS! Diatomaceous earth didn't even help. We had to be connected to the truck and raise our jacks and stabilizers. Billions of ants invaded our trailer. We could not enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Other campers had ants too. They also invaded the area where we tried to barbecue. Shaded by trees but not dark. Narrow, tight roads in need of repair. Electric and water good. Good, easy to access dump station. Decent over-the-air TV. We camped at Malden Lake Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

If you know a way to absolutely keep ants from invading your rig, do it BEFORE they enter. Then I think you will enjoy the site. We couldn't even barbecue without ants getting all over everything.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground, Yuma, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice check in. Congested park with confusing, narrow roads. It was difficult to figure out where to drive. Nice level concrete pad with wood deck. No grass or tree at site. Not pretty. We had a site on the edge, so had a nice view. Nice feature: they have Digiorno pizza that they will bake and bring to you. Pool was an in-ground vinyl-liner type but was closed while we were there. Good laundry. Great WiFi. Cable. Thorough literature that even included instructions of how to get places like Walmart. No circuit breaker on electric. We camped at Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Anchor Down RV Resort, Dandridge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

A true resort. This place would be fabulous for families with kids. It has EVERYTHING: pool, water park on lake, views, dog park and more. We had site 17 up on a hill which was very spacious with a view of the lake. The sites that were on the lower level with back ins on the lake looked congested. One must rent a golf cart for $39/day to get to the office, pool, water park, etc. unless you young and athletic. Sitting by the pool one has a beautiful view of the lake. There is a little walk-up place near the pool that has hot dogs, hamburgers and pork sandwiches. The surface where you park your RV is a little strange. It is kind of cement but slick and textured. We tried to use our Camco leveling blocks, but they just skidded along and got chewed up by the texture. Luckily we had some wood we could use. The pad was not far off level. We camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Anderson Road Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This might be an OK park for tents or little trailers. We did not like it. The pull through was narrow and curved and the tree branches made it more narrow. It was dark and there was nowhere one would enjoy sitting outside to enjoy nature. It just was not pretty. Bathroom clean and nice. Dump station difficult to get to so we skipped it. There was water and electric that worked well. We could see a filtered view of the lake through the forest. Some small back-in sites were on the lake which might have been nice. We had reservations to return in a few days but we cancelled. We did not want to return. We camped at Anderson Road Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Victory RV Park and Campground, Paducah, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were literally the only ones there, so difficult to review. We absolutely loved it and had beautiful views, but if it were packed with other RVs, it would have been quite different. I would say one should try to get a space (maybe site 10?) on end or edge to have wonderful views. Attractive pond in center. The owner or operator, is super nice-makes one feel really welcome. Apparently the nearby drag strip and raceway can be very noisy but they were empty while we were there. One might want to ask about that. We camped at Victory RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Worlds of Fun Village, Kansas City, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Cement site, no shade. Nice grass. Check in nice. People in office super nice. When us Californians were very uneasy during a severe thunderstorm, they were helpful and said if it caused trouble with our 5th wheel, they would put us up in a cabin. We had quite a bit of trouble finding where to go into this park. We think they need to post very detailed driving instructions. It may seem obvious to them, but we carefully followed their directions with not so good results-took us to a closed gate. Had to call for better directions. Zero shade around pool, so when it is hot and a pool sounds good, nope. Nice looking pool though. Very easy to pull into site and it was perfectly level. We camped at Worlds of Fun Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Farnum Creek COE, Junction City, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Love this place. Loop A has water/electric hookups and most sites have at least a small view of the lake. Lots of shade from big, mature cicada-laden trees (noisy at times). Lots of packed-together, back-in sites on the lake but we had a spacious pull-through with a little view of the lake. Nice flush-toilet bathroom. Playground. Rangers came through to check on things. Volunteers came through to make sure all was good. Very friendly check in. Our site (#1) had a nice lawn on one side. Sites are not level. We camped at Farnum Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

High Plains Camping, Oakley, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The paper given when you check in calls this place "High Plains RV Resort." It is not a resort. The lady who checked us in was very nice. The cable and electric and water all worked well. The site was bur clover and gravel and easy to get level, and long enough we didn't have to unhitch. If you have pets, I think you want to go somewhere else. The burs are like very strong, sharp thorns that get all over the bottom of shoes - I hate to think of dogs paws walking there. If you like to use campground bathrooms in the morning, this is not the place for you. Their literature says they are for only those without their own bathroom. They are locked and no code is given. No showers. Did not look at pool. On-site pub we didn't try. No shade, and they recommend you keep awning in due to possible sudden winds. Big, bright parking lot light on all night. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Junction West RV Park, Grand Junction, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Rocks, rocks everywhere. Site was large "gravel." No grass. Level. Best WiFi we have experienced at any RV park - we could stream YouTube. Bathrooms were immaculate. The women's bathroom had bouquets of fake but bright, colorful flowers-a welcome site. Our site was double wide, so on our door side there was lots of space from neighbor. But site was short-required to disconnect. There was supposed to be cable but when my husband went to office about there seeming to be no place to hook up, they acted surprised. They said they would check, but never did. I believe they know darn well there is no cable at that site. We camped at Junction West RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
