Gulf Breeze RV Resort, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The office staff professional, not overly friendly or helpful. We were told "restrooms are closed for cleaning, sign on doors" was all that was said at check-in. Our water pressure was the worst we have ever experienced! Both sides of our site had standing water, I called the office believing there was a water leak. Someone came out and said sites 70 and 69 were always in water! Seems they could put in some top soil/sand to correct the probem especially since there is a "pond" directly across the road! However, that being said, the pond was covered with Algie and stagnant water. Mosquitos were BAD! Fire ants everywhere, husband and I were bitten many times. This is a wet campground, with drains everywhere and several "ponds" to collect surface water. Due to low water pressure we HAD to use their showers, which are unisex, and there was always a waiting line to get a shower. This campground is a SNOW BIRD campground. Mostly 5th wheels. There is a "grumpy" attitude towards those who are not. Overflow parking apparently allowed at showers/ laundry bldg. blocking foot access to building. Before our departure, there was an afternoon rain storm, we returned from shopping to find our site totally under water. We could not get out of our car with groceries on dry area. There was such a "moat" (8 - 12 inches) around us in the morning ducks were swimming right next to electrical box! The water remained until we left, making it dangerous to unplug electrical and sewer as those were in 8-12 inches of water! Called the office and were told "nothing we can do". Seems they could have put a pump out there and run the line across the road to the "pond" and drained some of the water down. The trash dumpster (s) located near one of the restrooms were always overflowing, and smelling. Laundry $1.25 for wash, $1.25 for dry with 40 minutes drying. One washer and dryer "out of service" The pool looked nice enough from a distance. We camped at Gulf Breeze RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Island Retreat RV Park, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Quoted $34.20 for a pull through and $31.50 for backin. Their brochure advertises $35. With additional $3.00 for pull through. NO DISCOUNT even though brochure states "Good Sam Park". The charges are confusing, then there are the added taxes! Sites NOT level, concrete pads broken up, pavers placed here and there to "patch" breaks and missing concrete. It was very hard to level camper. Restrooms are very dated, although appear to be clean with mold on the grout between tiles, I do not consider it "clean". No dog run or specified area to walk dogs. Those who do not clean up after their dogs makes it nasty. Staff are pleasant but have a "that is the way it is" attitude. WIFI poor, verizon cell phone service non existent. We camped at Island Retreat RV Park in a Motorhome.

Peculiar Park Place RV Park, Peculiar, Missouri

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Its a nice, clean and quiet campground. With dog walk AREAS, yes, plural! Doggie bags and dump bucket. Folks were very nice, escorted us to our camp site via golf cart. Nicely landscaped, with benches and swings places to sit on the hill side and enjoy the view of I-49. Cute little gift shop in the office and a nice little rec. room. Walking trails and large enough space between camp sites. We had full hook up with 50 amp and pulll through big enough to accommodate our tow dolly and car. Laundry $1.50 wash and $1.50 dry. They are regular house sized washers and dryers. Trees in bloom and daffodils as well! Wifi was the best we have ever had at a campground. Only 9 rating as the gravel road was dusty and the few that did not obey speed limit made it dusty. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Eagle's Rest RV Park & Camping, Chadron, Nebraska

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The only plus about this place is it's right off the interstate. Tractor trailers and full-time mobile homes in "estate" area. They obviously do not clean up after campers leave dog poop barbecue tools wrenches, trash everywhere. Could not walk without stepping in dog poop. About 3 feet of grass between sites . Very tight spaces picnic tables anchored to cement pad so no possibility for maneuverability. Barbecue grills in small cement pad for tables. Not kept well at all very run down, dusty and dirty. We camped at Eagle's Rest RV Park & Camping in a Motorhome.

Area's Finest Country View Campground, Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Cannot comment on the restrooms or showers, as they have been just renovated and owner has not arrived to approve the work. Laundry room is clean looking. Dirt/gravel road, corn fields on 3 sides of campground. Little pine trees between sites, no real shade. Pool closed for season. Very nice owners, the host actually walked to our site to show us where it was located! WIFI GREAT!!!!!! So happy to have great WIFI = Best after being in many states and camp grounds!!! Cable is free = its good too! We are here off season, so its not geared up yet. The list of rules is 1-9 most begin or end with "please". Nice place, pool, playground, and wagon wheel themed. We camped at Area's Finest Country View Campground in a Motorhome.

Hollywood Casino RV Park, Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

There is no office at the campsite you go into the laundry room which consist of two washers and two dryers cost $1.50 per load, each. There is a phone in the laundry room; you pick it up it connects you to the front desk at the casino. We were told to drive around pick out our site and call front desk back to make sure that they weren't working on the site. There are a few large oaks with moss hanging down. Keypad to get into restrooms and showers; the code you will receive when you check in at the casino front desk. There is no one Physically on the grounds.

Upon checking in you will receive a card with the phone number to call for golf cart shuttle service to the casino. And they will take you back to your doorstep as well. But it's not a very long walk from the campsite to the casino. There are very few pull through's. They were all taken.

The showers are clean and ample water pressure and hot water. Garbage cans at the end of the sites which is emptied on a regular basis. The Wi-Fi is great!!! AND FREE CABLE! There is 24 hour security on the campsite and free ice at the pavilion. Washer and dryer $1.50 each not sure how long dryer runs.

You have free access to the pool, fitness room and "lazy river" at the resort. The front desk will issue a key card. And of course the casino and it's three restaurants

There is ample grass more than we've seen in a long time in a campground! The road through the Camp grounds is two lanes wide, sites are all paved with cement pads and picnic tables. NO FIRES PERMITTED charcoal grills at each site. Check out is noon, quiet 10pm to 8 am and no tents are allowed. Dogs allowed. There is propane gas available at the camp grounds AND they allow you to wash your RV and car. We camped at Hollywood Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Niagara Woodland Campground, Ransomville, New York

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The park was OK a lot of permanent residents who seemed exempt from the leash policy for their little dogs that attacked us every time we walked by. Our site was in the woods where there are no cement pads. Firewood was available but very expensive. Speed bumps were over kill WAY TOO high and narrow with metal rebar sticking up out of the firehose covered 4x4. In a pinch it would work certainly I would not stay more time than necessary to get to the next destination. Wi-Fi was moderate. Voltage was inconsistent. We camped at Niagara Woodland Campground in a Motorhome.
