Clear Lake COE, Princeton, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I needed an RV site near Allen, TX for a few days. I found this COE park and decided to give it a try. The arrival process was easy and went as hoped. The park appears to be an older one, but with charm. The interior roads are in need of repair as are at least some of the restroom/bath facilities. The grass needed mowing, although some of it was mowed during our stay. To the park's defense, the DFW area has received a great deal of rain over the last month or so, so that probably explains the tall grass. All the utilities functioned perfectly and were easy to access and hook up to. We camped at Clear Lake COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This COE park is about 15-20 driving miles +\- from the Plano/Allen, Texas area. Between those two cities alone, the dining and/or shopping choices are virtually endless, let alone the relative proximity to Dallas itself.

Lakeview Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I stayed for a week at this campground in mid-September. Coincidentally, the campground ownership changed hands two weeks prior to our stay. This is an older campground with lots of shade and charm, however, it also has predominately smaller camp sites. The site we were in, was listed as a pull through and supposed to be big enough for our 42' fifth wheel, but when it came time to leave we had to back out of the site instead of pulling through due to some very close trees and a sharp turn on our right side. The site was fine overall, just not a true pull thru for a larger rig. All the utilities were easy to reach and functioned properly. Overall, the campground is tired in some ways and we're hopeful that the new owners will be able to rejuvenate it. We saw and spoke with one of the new owners several times as he was walking the park, taking note of where to concentrate the rejuvenation efforts. We camped at Lakeview Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rusk KOA , Rusk, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I wanted a campground near Jacksonville, Texas, as we had two grandchildren visiting with us and we had activities planned for them in Jacksonville. I found the Rusk KOA and I am glad I did. It is a very nice, clean campground. The playground and pool were both near our site, which made it easier to occupy our grandchildren. The KOA staff that we interacted with were all friendly, helpful, and efficient. I would definitely recommend the park and would return. We camped at Rusk KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Jacksonville, Texas is located approximately 20 miles to the north of this KOA. In the Jacksonville area there are a number of family friendly activities: Adrenaline Rush Zip Line (www.daretozip.com) (the only place that I will zipline), Cherokee Trace Drive Thru Safari (www.cherokeetrace.com) (a fun, interesting activity), and the Texas State Railroad (www.texasstaterailroad.net).

Countryview RV Park, Princeton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I needed an RV space near Allen, Texas for about a week in order to help family who live in Allen. When I called Countrytime the lady who answered the phone said they were full for the dates we needed. A few days later she called me back to tell me they had a last minute opening. I appreciate this lady's initiative and it paid off; we booked the site. The facility is very nice, but a bit hard to find. Google Maps will NOT find it. We ended up calling when we got close and the owner gave us very good directions to guide us in. The facility is all gravel roads and sites, but they appear to be well maintained and our site was reasonably level. We had a water leak at the water shut off valve for our site however, we reported it and it was fixed that same day. The park is virtually full of full timers and residents, but the interaction we had with the folks we met was very pleasant, a nice group of people. This park is very quite day and night. The showers, restrooms, and laundry were clean and in good repair. We would definitely consider staying there again, if they have an open site! We camped at Countryview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed a weekend here to attend an event nearby. Very nice RV park! Our site was level and & clean; all the hookups were in good repair & worked. Tips for other Campers:

Had Mexican food at Antigua's Grill, located at 2051 North Jackson in Magnolia. It was very good, and I would go back. It's only a few miles from the RV park. ☺
