Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great spot, thought fairly expensive for not being that close to town.

Full hook ups. Back in spot saved us $2/night. Around $44 w/ Good Sam.

Gravel sites, level. Not right on your neighbors: each spot had a picnic table and patio. Clean facilities. 5 laundry machines (2 were broken at the time). Propane filling on site.

Easy making a reservation by phone. No deposit required. Was pretty full even late in the season.

They have a ton of solar panels and offset about 50% of their energy.

Not great wifi, but usable. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Not that close to town. But easy to jump on 25. The Santa Fe brewery was pretty close.

Morro Dunes RV Park, Morro Bay, California

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Site Quality = 3/5

Level concrete spaces. Mostly back ins. Star shaped cul de sac spaces. Not the easiest to back into but luckily it wasn't full when we pulled in. Close proximity to neighbors. Fire pits and tables. No shade (but you're on the pacific coast and it is usually foggy/overcast anyway). Spaces were only long enough for the trailer (30') and could kind of fit our truck without blocking our neighbors. There is parking nearby for 2nd vehicles.

Facilities/Amenities = 5/5

Showers and bathrooms near each site. Laundry on site. Clean. Has a convenience store. Had wifi - pretty slow in the evenings. Good cell service.

Location = 4/5

Right off the beach, easy walking distance to a great sunset. 10 minute drive to downtown Morro Bay with restaurant options. Right off highway 1 but far from the highway noise. It is right next to the waste water treatment center.

Price 2/5

On the high end - $50/night

Ease of booking 4/5

No online booking but if you call them during normal hours they picked up quickly. Booking was a breeze. This place does fill up and is a popular destination, so book early.

Hook Ups 4/5

Full hook ups, 30 AMP service. Sewer was a little worse for the wear.

Overall Rating = 3.66/5. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
