Apple Valley Farm RV Resort, Lake Lure, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is an owner resort so each site has different features but they are all spacious. The highway into the resort is narrow and windy but we drove our 45 ft Motorhome and tow in and out without issue using our GPS. The online reservations system allowed us to book a site that was not available and we had to be placed on an alternate site when we arrived. The power was not working on that site but they had it repaired the next day. We cleaned the patio furniture so we could use it. The Wifi in the park was essentially unusable and our Verizon cell phones and mobile broadband only worked sporadically even with our booster. We had some difficulty getting mail delivered that we had forwarded from home as there is no full time staff at the park. There is no clubhouse, showers, bathroom, or laundry available as these are all in the owners only building. There is no dog park. However, this is part of Rumbling Bald resort so you can access their facilities -pool, exercise room, trails, golf, etc about 5 miles away. We didn't use these during our stay. The park didn't suit our needs very well and the cell and Wifi was really a problem but if your visit keeps you nearby and you can take advantage of the resort facilities, it might be a better experience. All the people we met and the Rumbling Bald guest services by phone were very friendly and tried to be helpful. We camped at Apple Valley Farm RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The park and the entire Lake Lure area is very pretty.

We drove to the Blueridge Parkway one day and the Biltmore another. Each was about a one hour drive one way due to the windy roads.
