Usery Mountain Regional Park, Mesa, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Usery Mountain Regional Park is a lovely place to stay if you have reason to visit the Mesa/Phoenix area of AZ. There are some nice trails and campsites are spacious. Word of warning: because of it's proximity to the city, it is well used. Trails were very, very crowded on Saturday and Sunday morning. Also, choose a campsite away from the group camping area. That can get really loud and unpleasant all day and into the night. In fact, the group that was there while I was was the loudest group I have ever experienced in a campground. I had to change my site. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Canyon, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This state park is very worth a trip if you are crossing the country. It is a very easy drive south of Amarillo. The 10% grade down into the canyon is a bit scary, but not difficult. Once at the bottom, you will see that it is totally worth it. We camped at Palo Duro Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Eufaula State Park, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a sweet park, at least off season, and is good for an overnight stop on your way across country. It is close to Route 40, was quiet, has some sights with nice water views. We camped at Lake Eufaula State Park in a Motorhome.

Campground at Barnes Crossing, Tupelo, Mississippi

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice stop-over for a night if you are driving through northern Mississippi. It is small, clean and quiet, with nothing much going on. The best thing about it was the WiFi. It is the only park in which I had reliable wifi across the entire country. We camped at Campground at Barnes Crossing in a Motorhome.
