Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This large yet comfortable resort is packed with things to do between June and Labor Day. Many sites offer scenic views, especially when the Autumn leaves color the hills of coal country. While it is nice that they provide year round camping be prepared to pay the same "resort" fee even off season. In season amenities include two swimming pools (with water slides), an indoor movie theater, a full service restaurant, miniature golf, three dog parks and lots of activities for children and adults. Off season it is a convenient base from which to explore Pennsylvania's coal country. We did have a problem with a long term camper doing some kind of very noisy grinding for hours, which could be heard all over the park. Other than paying for services not available when we visited our stay was generally pleasant. We camped at Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Shadrack Campground, Bristol, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

If you are looking for a place to tailgate overnight near the Bristol Motor Speedway you may well enjoy this clean and convenient parking lot. I hesitate to call it a campground considering the way units are packed together. No picnic tables are provided and if you want a campfire you have to provide your own or rent one of theirs. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful, their store is well stocked with RV supplies. If you are looking for an overnight (think Walmart with hookups) or in town for a race this might work out well for you. Otherwise I would recommend one of the other nearby parks. We camped at Shadrack Campground in a Motorhome.
