Camp Clearwater, Elizabethtown, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

My husband and I camped at Camp Clearwater due to its close proximity to the White Lake Fall Half Iron Man starting/finishing point. The overnight section of the campground was only about 50% full. It took us a little time to get into our site due to it being a tight squeeze between trees. We felt that the spots were a little narrow (we prefer larger, more private sites), but we had room to put out our awning. The utilities were very easy to access, and the site was fairly level. Everyone we met was very friendly, and overall we enjoyed our stay. However, I simply don't understand how they don't accept credit cards..?? I only visited the bathhouse once, and its condition left a little to be desired. Our site location was fairly quiet and relaxing - sites near the trash compactor and/or the main roads definitely would've been more noisy. Bonus for the campground encouraging recycling! We plan to stay at Camp Clearwater again in the future. We camped at Camp Clearwater in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Junaluska Campground, Waynesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

My husband and I were driving through and needed somewhere to park for one night. We were pleased with our campsite as it was a level pull-through so effort for our overnight stay was minimal. Everyone we encountered was SO friendly and my husband loved swimming in the lake. Overall, this was a great choice for our overnight needs. We camped at Lake Junaluska Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Greenbrier Campground (formerly Greenbrier Island), Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

My family spent the July 4th holiday weekend at Greenbrier and we had a great time! We were on sites 93, 94, and 95. These sites were larger than most, but these sites all seemed to be a 'cut through' for folks to access other parts of the campground. We're the type who like lots of privacy so we were very bothered by folks just walking right through every few minutes. If this doesn't bother you, then these sites were all great.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, the campground was in a convenient location, and everything appeared to be neat and clean. If we return, we will choose our site more carefully to be sure we have the amount of privacy that we like. We camped at Greenbrier Campground (formerly Greenbrier Island) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We brought our kayaks and ventured out onto lake Douglas twice while visiting. It's a beautiful lake and wasn't crowded at all, even on the holiday weekend!

Mountain Stream RV Park, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

My family (5 RVs total) all visited Mountain Stream for the Memorial Day weekend and we had a GREAT experience! The site I was on (recommended by my parents who we previous guests) was PERFECT for us and our two dogs. No grass (which meant no muddy feet!) but lots of rock, lush foliage, a swing, and a beautiful view of the stream. So many folks walking by our site commented on how beautiful it was. Overall the grounds were very clean and it was obvious that the owners took great pride in the campground. Hwy 80 was a bit narrow and windy, so going slow, being careful, and paying attention are all very important. My husband thoroughly enjoyed cycling in the area and we ventured out to nearby towns almost every day. Cell service is completely nonexistent once you pass Dot's on Hwy 80, so be sure to say your goodbyes before you start winding your way up the mountain. The campground offered WiFi but we heard that it was being worked on so we didn't bother asking for the password since we didn't figure we could stay under the minimum anyways (ha ha). We had a fantastic time and can't wait to return soon! We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat, Rutherfordton, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

We just returned from our first visit to 4PK and we had a BLAST. Our site was great and the fence was a little gift from heaven.. I'm not sure we'll ever be able to stay on a site without a fence now! The patio was just perfect for meals outdoors, and it even came stocked with a super-nice charcoal grill. The 4PK staff was FANTASTIC and did everything possible to make sure we had a great time, from guiding us into our site to hosting a delicious Easter dinner. Our dogs had a great time swimming in the pond, exploring the campground, and especially loved the peanut butter Easter egg hunt. 4PK even had a 'private' dog park for dogs like mine that are sometimes selective about who their friends are. We're already planning our next trip and we've convinced family and friends to come along too. I know some folks may be offended/disheartened that 4PK doesn't allow campers under 18, but I am personally delighted to find a campground dedicated to MY (fur) kids. We highly recommend 4PK to everyone and can't wait to go back! We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

Jones Station RV Park, Mebane, North Carolina

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

My husband and I camped at Jones Station last weekend, along with family who occupied sites 23 and 27. We all had a great time and enjoyed the campground. All sites were fairly level and sites 22 and 23 were a bit more open whereas site 27 had less grass and more trees. 22 and 23 had large grassy areas between the sites with plenty of room for us to spread out and play horseshoes, frisbee, etc. The campground was well laid out and we enjoyed walking around and exploring. The things we disliked about this campground were the dust that kicked up off the gravel roads as folks drove by our site, and I would have personally liked to have seen a couple of doggy waste stations. All in all, great campground and we plan to return soon! We camped at Jones Station RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort, Four Oaks, North Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Raleigh Oaks last weekend while in the area for a college graduation ceremony at Campbell. We got in late at night but found the campground to be easy to navigate and the lights at the end of each site were very helpful for setting up in the dark. Most sites are very long and spacious, more than enough room for us and fairly level. Small details such as cute shrubs in berms at the ends of each site made the park feel homey and well maintained. Office staff was friendly and helpful, and the waffle breakfast was a great. We enjoyed a round of putt putt and our dogs enjoyed a romp in one of the dog parks. Our family plans to meet here again in the future, since there are nice cabins that the non-campers can rent. While my husband and I generally prefer parks with 'private' sites (such as wooded sites), we had a very pleasant experience in this typical RV park setting. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Cross Winds Family Campground, Linwood, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We visited Cross Winds at the suggestion of family and friends and had a great time! We arrived at night and found it a bit tough to back in and get level due to low spots on the site that we couldn't see well in the dark. The site we were on (at the end of row B) was very wooded and private. My parents stayed in the site next to us and we enjoyed hiking through the trees woods to go visit them. We have already booked another trip next month. Trash cans at each site and the hookup locations were convenient for us. We are looking forward to trying out the new section that is currently being constructed. Looking forward to returning soon! We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pine Ridge Campground, Roebuck, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

My husband and I just purchased our first travel trailer and visited Pine Ridge on our very first trip. The owners were super friendly and helpful!

Grounds were beautiful: our dogs had a blast and my husband enjoyed fishing daily. The site we were on was fairly close to neighboring units but the space was not unreasonable. The little decks at each site were cool!

I have already recommended Pine Ridge to family members, and we will definitely be back! We camped at Pine Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.
