Happy Camper RV Park, Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

SPent a month here after a month in Cortez CO. It is very hard to find a park here that offers reasonable monthly rates. As a full timer on a budget that is important. We got a great monthly rate including electricity for a pull thru site, full service. The view outside our RV was pretty. The people who operated the park were very sweet and helpful. It was an adequate place for even a long stay, great for overnighters. The WiFI was QUITE GOOD! as was the water pressure with no pressure reduction. The downside: The water here smells of sulphur ALL THE TIME. Although it has a count of 560 parts per million of dissolved solids, it is soft so you are never quite sure you have rinsed the soap completely. THe biggest downside was the noise. There is only ONE throughfare through here and through town, hwy 160. Noisy as all get out 24/7. We used our A/C fan for white noise and slept with ear plugs. Impossible to sit outside on the nicest days because of the noise. The upside is porximity to hiking trails and the mineral baths. The town itself has too many "California" characteristics and the ambient sport here is definitely tail gating and turning left in front of your face. We camped at Happy Camper RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Blue Mountain RV Park, Blanding, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here a month, hence the rate, and it was a superb property currently being beautified. They are strategically planting ground cver, trees, and shrubs. WiFi was one of the best and most reliable on the road yet. People were sweet and helpful. Laundry a little pricey but worth it for the size of the washers. Site was spacious and parking more than ample right next to our site. Would definitely stay here again. THe proximity to literally hundreds of great hikes into ruin-filled canyons was awesome. IMHO, a better place to stay than any in Moab which do not offer monthly rates and are otherwise over-priced. Easy drives to Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, Canyonlands, Newspaper Rock, Hovenweep and more. Easy access to Mt. Abajo and forest hiking. Great level site and charcoal cooker provided. We camped at Blue Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Another day another ruined. This is a DRY town, stock up on your booze choices before coming. Nearest liquor store - such as it is - is Monticello and prices are OUTRAGEOUS. Stock up your larder too. One grocery in town - Clarke's - and it is way subtandard and lacks good fresh choices for produce.

Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel, Bernardo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Interesting park with huge spaces and interior roads. Great satellite accessibility. it is in the middle of nowhere with 20+ milea to a gas station and 22 miles to the city of Socorro and its Walmart. It does abut I-25 but this section doesn't get as much traffic as other sections. We camped at Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel in a Travel Trailer.

Shop in Socorro, get gas there too. Closer station is a Phillips 66 but it got a lot of traffic and had a number of pumps out of order, not worth the stop.

Daniel Junction, Pinedale, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for a month exploring the beautiful Wyoming outdoors. Price was right. Owners were super, lovely people. we had a brief problem with an employee's on site barking dogs but the owners interceded and solved the problem. Had no WiFI for most of the month but when it went on with 4 days to go it served us well. Just 11 miles from the incredible town of Pinedale WY. Nothing fancy, rahter run down looking but nobody bothers you and HUGE sites are easy to back into. Would stay here again. Our site, unfortunately had the sewer connection uphill from our RV. Still worked but with a little more effort on my part. We camped at Daniel Junction in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 4 days on the way to north Mt. People were lovely and easy to work with. Site had ample room for RV and TV. WiFi was excellent. Well positioned park to tour Butte and surroundings. Riverview RV Park & Campground, Loveland, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

One of the most beautiful settings one can camp in. We had a forested view with no satellite antenna obstructions on the back end of the park. Great site, easy to get around, Big Thompson River roaring as you get near at about 400 CFS most days. The only downside is very little good hiking nearby. Best of it Rocky MOuntain National Park area but you have to travel to and through Estes Park and just not worth it - especially with all the road re-building going on. Delightful livable city with just too much traffic. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Goldfield RV Park, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for a week on the way up to WY. Dichotomy here is that the location of the park is awesome if you love to do things in the outdoors. People are sweet and helpful and there are even complimentary newspapers. However, it is the ugliest RV park we have ever stayed at. Also, most spaces were small and very near each other. Right on highway 34 it was also very noisy. We did feel the proximity to great hiking, places like Cheyenne Mountain and Garde of the Gods was worth puttin up with the negatives for a week. We camped at Goldfield RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sunrise RV Park, Texarkana, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a well managed, well manicured, well kept park. The bad news is that it was the NOISIEST park we have ever stayed at. The truck traffic is virtually constant but the train traffic replete with train whistles blowing is incredible. We used the A/C for white noise to help drown it our but ear plugs are recommended. Great for a night not so hot for more because of the noise. We camped at Sunrise RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for three nights on way westward. A very good place to stay except for the drainage...when it rains it's really wet. This place did have the absolute best WiFi service of any RV park I have ever been to. Highly efficient, very easy in and out, great place to stay - especially when it doesn't rain. Auburn RV Park at Leisure Time Campground, Auburn, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Overnighted here going from NC to Mobile AL. Would do so again. Navigating was a little tight but manageable. Sites were nice and many grass patches for dog walking.

It advertized WiFi but their WiFi app never gave a place to enter the access code.

Site was not really level side to side so if staying longer prepare to adjust for levelling.

The host was friendly, accommodating and lovely. We camped at Auburn RV Park at Leisure Time Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mi Mountain Campground, Franklin, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for the first time for a little over a month. Got a pull through spot. The view into the forest was wonderful compared to many views we have experienced. The location was perfect for our hiking every trail in the Standing Indian area. We would deem this to be the perfect RV park except for the barking dogs across the way. Luckily our RV insulation pretty much blotted out the barking but it really was a nuisance.

The host is wonderful and we even had a cook out sponsored by him with excellent chicken and ribs.

ATT cell service was perfect so we could use our built in hub from our Chevy Silverado to access the internet. There is no way to access satellite service that we could find because of the trees - beautiful but satellite defeating. It mattered not since Mi Mountain provided cable TV and it worked just fine. This is a wonderful little spot in the NC mountains and you won't find a better value in Western NC. We camped at Mi Mountain Campground in a Travel Trailer.
