Devil's Fork Campground, Greers Ferry, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great Lake access and has a couple of swim beaches. B loop can be a bit busy and has a few spots difficult to back into because of trees. We camped at Devil's Fork Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Waterside sites do not have water, but with an extra long hose and friendly patron across from your site you can fill up at a dry site. Can pull up boat to edge of many of the waterside sites.

Lake Chicot State Park, Lake Village, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park grounds have been neglected and drainage is extremely poor in several loops. Park did not live up to expectations from reviews. Ditches were silted in and leaves were clogging up tiles creating perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. It appeared as though a couple of seasons of leaves and debris had built up. The park has such potential to be really beautiful with some TLC. Picking up limbs, mowing, and digging out ditches to promote drainage would go a long way towards improvement. Poor soil mechanics has also taken its toll on some of the roads in the park. In several places the road settling has created large crevices in the middle of the road that someone could easily twist or break an ankle if they didn't watch their steps. I would only recommend camping in Loop F because of poor drainage in other loops. Park Ranger was very nice and helpful in answering questions regarding fishing rules, licensing, and use of out of state boats. We camped at Lake Chicot State Park in a Travel Trailer.

John F Kennedy COE, Heber Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park for families and fishermen. Close to lake and the Little Red River is great for fly fishing. Hatchery at park entrance and open to the public. Close to Heber Springs; quick 10 minutes to Walmart. D loop has less traffic and all sites are reservable. We camped at John F Kennedy COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Hatchery is a nice activity, especially for children. The park also offers a couple of trails; one of which is handicap accessible. Nice playground area for children on D loop.
