Creekside Campground, Edinburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Smaller campground convenient to I-81. Few options in this region, this one is the best. Gravel roads that need some more gravel. Sites are not very level, may need to jostle around a bit to level your rig. Scenic, quiet with the soothing sound from the creek. Water, wifi, electric all good. Need a cable box to get cable, no charge but something else to hook up. No store on site. Follow their website directions, not your GPS. It will take you to a load limited one way bridge. We will stay here again, good overnight stop. We camped at Creekside Campground in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Another rare ten from me. Level sites, good water pressure, fast wifi, expansive cable. Great office staff. Gated entrance with attendant during the day so you don't need to scan your pass. Cafe food tasty, but pricey. Had a problem with electric when we arrived, fixed in 5 minutes. Need propane or ice? They will deliver it and you can charge it to your site. Don't miss the tourist seminar they give daily, tons of good info. If you have a toad, drive to the Metro station. Easy Peasy and it will save you having to wait for the buses. Consider going on the DC at night tour they offer, well worth the money. You can not reserve a specific site except premium. I thought this strange until they told the reason. If you decide to extend, you can. That site is yours until you leave. Need to leave early? You will only be charged for the nights you actually stay. How cool is that. One of the cleanest, most well maintained parks we have stayed in in 10 years of travel. There is road noise in parts of the park. Check out the site map and choose wisely. Check in is at 11 am, early bird gets the good sites. This park is worth every dollar. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Grocery about a mile away. Malls and major stores within 10 miles. Use the College park metro station as opposed to Greenbelt, more parking available.

Tips for other Campers:

Two days for the price of one tickets for Biltmore available at the office. Biltmore offers Segway tours, if you never have, you should. Rooftop tour at Biltmore is well worth the money.

Anderson / Lake Hartwell KOA, Anderson, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Paved entrance road, gravel interior roads and site, fairly level. Lots of shade. No problems with power or cable. Older park well maintained by the two sweet ladies that run this place. Two hours free Wi-Fi, then 3 dollars a day. Wi-Fi fast and reliable. Water pressure high. Areawide problem with water, giving it an odor and rendering it undrinkable. Not the park's fault; the county is working on it. Suggest you bring some bottled water with you until this is resolved. Quiet park we will use again. We camped at Anderson / Lake Hartwell KOA in a Motorhome.

Gravel roads and spacious gravel sites, relatively level. No problems with power, water, cable or wifi. Two year old park, small trees have been planted but no shade as of yet. Nice park that will get better as the trees grow, we will return to check it out. We camped at Camping World - Good Sam Campground of Oxford in a Motorhome.

Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

A lot of bang for the buck at this park. No traffic noise. Good paved roads and mostly level concrete sites (some sites were not very level, ask for a level site upon check in). Sites also seemed a little narrow and short,. Our 30 foot Class C and Jeep took up every inch, although there were Class A's on some sites. Utilities are grouped towards the rear on the site. I doubt you could keep the toad hooked up. Power good, as was water and cable. Fast free Wi-Fi ( not TengoInternet). Occasional train noise. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free shuttle to casino. All things said, we would stay here again. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

We camped at Fernbrook RV Park in a Motorhome.

Treetops RV Resort, Arlington, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, well maintained park. No power or water problems. Paved roads, gravel sites that require some leveling, concrete patios. Cable excellent. Internet fast, reliable and free. Friendly staff. Escort to site with help lining up. Clean, large laundry room. Very little road noise, minimal airplane noise from DFW. Dumpsters for trash. City is doing some drainage ditch work in the park, quite a bit of noise from their equipment during the day, not the campground's fault but you should know. We definitely recommend this park. We camped at Treetops RV Resort in a Motorhome.

TranQuil Garden RV Park, Salado, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Rural park two miles off I-35, some local traffic noise. Gravel roads and sites that require moderate leveling. Small laundry room, machines work. Poor Internet, a few over air TV channels. Power good, water pressure very high, regulator needed, quality okay. Bathhouse locked from 9 PM to 9 AM, according to the rule sheet. I didn't check this fact out. Trash cans at each site. Grounds could use some TLC. Owner is a little terse. Would use again as an overnight, but not more than that. We camped at TranQuil Garden RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nightly / weekly sites are all located near the road with much noise. No power or water problems. Minimal shade. Paved roads and wide, level concrete sites. Meaher State Park, Spanish Fort, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Paved interior roads and sites, which are fairly level. High water pressure, quality good. No problems with power or WiFi, a few over the air TV channels. Some road noise but not excessive. Beautiful vista, right on the river. The biggest problem is the sewer hookups. They are installed too high, making it very difficult to drain tanks. Before leaving, it was necessary to reposition my rig as close to the drain as possible to empty. I saw several others doing the same thing. There is no dump station on site. Because of this drawback, I am not sure I would use this park in the future. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Motorhome.

Tallahassee RV Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park close to I-10, little road noise. Paved roads, grocery 1/2 miles away. Power good, water pressure and quality good. Wi-fi and cable both worked well. Fairly level sites, pea gravel/dirt sites, could be messy in rainy weather. Trash bins close to most sites. Office staff friendly. Didn't use showers/restrooms. Would use this park again. We camped at Tallahassee RV Park in a Motorhome.
