This could be a great park if sanitary and clean conditions were maintained. The restrooms by the pool were filthy all weekend especially the men's room. No toilet paper, human waste, and waste stained clothing on the floor. The pool was cloudy. There was litter on the ground everywhere, especially on the beach by the sound. The management did not enforce "quiet hours" and the music and partying went on till after midnight. No use in complaining, we were told that we were free to leave but would get no refund. We wound up using the porta-potty in our pop up and traveling to the public beach to shower. It is a shame because this park could be great with the proximity to historic sites and the beautiful view of the sound.

Superior camp ground! You must be military, retired or active or have a retired/acitve military sponsor with you to camp here. We have been here several times. There is nothing negitive to say! Visit the website, too many amenities to list here. You name it, they have it. The staff is outstanding and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Great fishing! Hot in summer so bring a fan or AC. No electric in the tent area. Water front views only in tent area or RV overflow area I personally prefer the RV overflow, no sewer hookup but nice, shady and close to the Cape Fear river.

Great fishing, cycling, bird watching, boating. Swimming area just for campground, not open to public. I prefer Crosswinds over the other campsites at the lake.
