Enfield / Rocky Mount KOA, Enfield, North Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This served us well as an overnight stop. Easy access to I-95 on a flat, wide easy to move about campground. We found our own way to site which wasn't an issue. No internet access; however, the TV off air connection( we have power antenna) was fine. Dog run was beautiful....large, grassy and secure, although there were no poop bags available.Although we were close to I-95 the road noise was not an issue. The office people were friendly and helpful. We camped at Enfield / Rocky Mount KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Firstly, this KOA has a very strange layout as within the park we crossed a one lane bridge, sharp, tight turns and the park was flooded in the area we were assigned. Considering the flooding, it would have been helpful if the host guided is to the site; however, we were left on our own to park in a marshlike, questionable site! We jumped from our vehicle and wondered if it was safe to hookup to power in so much water!!! The internet didn't work which was OK as we have internet onboard! TV reception poor. It is a very pretty location and quiet. I am sure quite delightful when not flooded! This time of year ask very specific questions about flooding on sites as our definition of ' flooded site' is not always the same as the host! clearly, we are not brave campers! We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Travel Trailer.

St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA, St Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived unannounced after hours and the delightful hosts, who live on site, were more than willing to be helpful and give us time to answer any and all questions we had. We found the facilities to be extremely clean. The campground was totally quiet. We appreciated the pull thru site and ample walking space for our poodles. They are working on a new dog run which will be huge. Excellent cable TV. We definately will stop at this KOA on our next visit to Michigan. We camped at St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

88 Shades RV Park, Quartzsite, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We picked this campground for its location and positive reviews and we were not disappointed! This is a well established, older campground with lots of well maintained park models and it had all the amenities that we were looking for. The showers and laundry areas are cleaned daily and sparkled! Washers and dryers worked well, in addition there was a wonderful paved area with plenty of clothes lines. How nice to use a clothesline in February under the beautiful Arizona sun! We received mail in a timely fashion, and management is on site and any concerns were taken care of promptly. There were lots of activities and seasonal/ permanent residents were friendly and always invited us to those events. They had a sweet dog parade on Valentine's Day which was followed by a party/ dance. They have a nice walking area for dogs as well as an enclosed off leash area. Poop bags were available throughout the park. We definitely will return to this park on our next visit to Quartzite. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wild West Ranch and RV Resort (formerly John Wayne RV Ranch), Maricopa, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for the entire month of January and this campground checked all of the boxes for us, because we wanted a desert experience where we could sit around a campfire, make new friends, and enjoy the impressive night sky and we always felt safe.Yes, it is close to a feedlot but the odor was never an issue! The management team were always extremely friendly, helpful and they all went out of their way to deliver mail, daily, in a timely fashion and answer any questions. Being able to walk to the office for a bottle of chilled wine or beer was a lovely touch! There was always someone available when I needed coins for the clean laundrymat ($1.75. / wash) or propane. Considering how full it was, it was exceptionally quiet. We were traveling with our poodles and being able to walk onto the desert at anytime was a special treat. It's a very dog friendly park and the other dogs never created any problems. We definitely would stay here again as it is a refreshing change from the typical commercial campgrounds. It has a real "family" feel and we made new friends, from both sides of the border, what we will stay in contact with when we are back home in Canada. ( It is a 20 minute drive from 2 very nice full service towns with excellent grocery stores) We camped at Wild West Ranch and RV Resort (formerly John Wayne RV Ranch) in a Travel Trailer.
