Faywood Hot Springs, Faywood, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The main attraction here is the hot springs open to daily visitors and included for overnight guests. Springs are clean and well kept, most of the staff quite nice about strict policies. Some pools are clothing optional, others clothing required, pool temperatures are nicely varied and well regulated. Nice tent sites and RV sites go from good to downright funky, with some clothing optional and all frequented by the population of feral cats. Cabins are also available, no WiFi, but good Verizon signal. The evening pools are filled with great travel suggestions from local patrons with nothing to hide. I've been here several times and will return. We camped at Faywood Hot Springs in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

As others have noted, the City of Rocks is worth at least a visit, hike or even overnight. The nearby Gila National Forest on Why 152 is one of my favorites.

Double Adobe Campgrounds, McNeal, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Remote park with clean restrooms and nice clubhouse. Most residents appear to be long term. Internet is for a single device and my need to connect the second of five I have for work seemed to cause issues. I would stay again if my internet requirements are reduced. We camped at Double Adobe Campgrounds in a Truck Camper.

Turquoise Valley Golf Course and RV Park, Naco, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Two 2 day stays this month, first time internet was quite good, but under repair the second and some staff confusion about passwords. The park is nice and clean with adequate restrooms and laundry, and if you like golf, the course is awesome. My burger in the clubhouse was quite good. My favorite feature of this park is they treat everyone like responsible adults and the campers they are. We camped at Turquoise Valley Golf Course and RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Mountain Valley Lodge, Rodeo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I didn't stay. Looked interesting, but with 80% of their sites apparently empty, they wouldn't extend checkout time an hour so I could work. I appreciate it though, because I found a park I loved down the road. We camped at Mountain Valley Lodge in a Truck Camper.

Rusty's RV Ranch, Rodeo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, clean park in a beautiful, remote setting, gracious staff and spacious sites. I loved the jagged mountains rising out of the rolling desert. Small, but functional clubhouse has satellite television, kitchen with coffee, a bathroom, a pond and aviary. Good internet met my requirement nicely. The park would have been great for stargazing except for the Christmas lights, temporary Border Patrol checkpoint and a full moon perfectly haloing a rounded peak before rising to erase a gazillion stars. My only concern in a dry rig was the single bathroom, but will make it a point to come back again. We camped at Rusty's RV Ranch in a Truck Camper.
