Allentown KOA, New Tripoli, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Quaint little spot, has a small stream, dog park, pool (closed during my visit). Quiet area. I live in the area, so this was just to get the dust off the trailer. Family enjoyed. Would go again. Interestingly enough, there is a "No Alcohol" policy at this KOA. Might be a "bad" for some and a "good' for others. We camped at Allentown KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Quiet area. Main attractions would be farms, Dorney Park, and the general stuff found in the Lehigh Valley, PA.

Watkins Glen / Corning KOA, Watkins Glen, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $94.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA is just outside of the "main" area at Watkins Glen, on the way to Corning, NY. It's clean, friendly and has a nice pool area and outdoor play area (zip line-$, water slide-$, playground, pond, bounce pad, etc.). The sites were close together, but gave enough room to move around. One thing that was a bit off was the fire ring location. With the prevailing wind and proximity of neighbors, it seemed the smoke from the fire was basically going right into their air intake. Maybe that was just me. We camped at Watkins Glen / Corning KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Pleasant Lake Campground, Pennellville, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I've read some of the other reviews, and while I agree with most of what they say, I can't make it seem like this place is a total sewage dump. The bugs were pretty bad on the back side (stayed across from the tent sites). But the place is surrounded by water, so pretty much expected. Lots of "seasonals", so good/bad, you decide. Showers were closed when I was there, but restrooms satisfactory. The sewage hookup did leave a bit to be desired, and you needed more than one person for it (one to run the plug and another to hold the darn PVC pipe in place). Beyond that, it wasn't THAT horrible. I'd stay there again, if for no other reason than location (I go to Liverpool, NY about once a month). We camped at Pleasant Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.
