Hidden Valley RV Park, Del Rio, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful, quiet park. The owners are super nice and are there to please. We had a huge spot with lots of elbow room. It is in a residential area which I think adds to its quaintness. The "Wash" is a combination of laundry, clubhouse, library and is super nice. We couldn't have asked for better for our needs. I just wish all of our stops had the spacious sites that Hidden Valley has. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great stop over. Had planned on staying for several days and were given a back-in site. We had a change of plans and only stayed one night. Very nice park with all of the amenities you could want for. A special perk was a restaurant on site!! We were greeted and escorted to our site and told to go check in at our leisure. Very friendly staff and apologized to us that if they knew we were only there for 1 night we could have had a pull thru so we didn't have to unhook. My only point about not rating at a 10 was the dust on the site. It is west Texas and I realize that is part of the area. Gravel would be better on the entire site rather than parking the rig on gravel and then having dirt for the outside area of the rig. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

My only tip would be do NOT take 285 from the New Mexico Border to Pecos Texas. All oil rigs; lots of dust and many, many trucks and the roads are horrible.

Valley Vista RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

I understand it is the busy season in south Arizona. The part was typical of Arizona and all gravel. My main concern is that the rigs were packed in; at least we were. We checked out other parks in the area that were much more spacious and with paved roads. The views were beautiful, the pool and clubhouse small. Upon arrival the gentleman in the office was very friendly. They do escort you to your spot and help you squeeze in. I swear I could spit to the neighbors camper. We had to keep our blinds down the entire week. My main complaint is the the amount of space they squeeze you in. Our tow vehicle hardly fit in the space. We camped at Valley Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pueblo El Mirage RV Resort (55+ park), El Mirage, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This park had lots of northerner's wintering which is fine; however we found it much too large to our liking. You need a golf cart to get around. Overall it is beautiful as far as the common areas go. Very up scale. The lot was very spacious and the neighbors friendly. We only stayed 3 days but if you like that sort of Resort it is great. It is a golf resort and we do not golf. We stayed there because we were meeting up with family. We camped at Pueblo El Mirage RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Arizona Village Mobile Home & RV Park (Formerly Cottonwood Cove Mobile, Casa Grande, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in transition is now known as Arizona Village RV Resort. The new owners are awesome and very helpful. They are truly transforming an old Mobile Home park to a new resort. The price listed above is an estimation of the price. We paid $200 for the week. We considered the price quite a deal for the cleanliness of the park. Would recommend and if ever in the area we will plan to come back. We camped at Arizona Village Mobile Home & RV Park (Formerly Cottonwood Cove Mobile in a Fifth Wheel.

Lazy Pelican RV Park, Crystal Beach, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great little park. It was so very clean. The owner is great and there to help with whatever you need. Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night. The beach is very close and walkable however the best is that you can drive to and on the beach. You can drive for miles down the beach we even saw a camper parked for the night (with permit, I'm sure) Close to all types of beachy shops, etc.

One great thing about this park is the very, very clean laundry room. No coin operated machines; it is free! We camped at Lazy Pelican RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Poche Plantation, Convent, Louisiana

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice folks. Our spot was next to the plantation house and not in the actual rv park. Suited our needs perfectly. There were mostly workers staying there in the park. They advertise cable TV but in actuality it was an HD antenna you hook up to. We didn't receive many channels. It was a great location to visit many of the plantation houses on The River Road. We camped at Poche Plantation in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver Slipper Casino RV Park, Waveland, Mississippi

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground on the Gulf. Minutes away from Casino. We didn't have very much luck on the slots but it was fun. Sign up for player's card and get one night free. The grounds of the campground were kept clean. Each site had a trash can that was emptied daily and had easy hook-ups. Walk across the road to a beautiful beach. The road is not highly traveled and easy to cross. We camped at Silver Slipper Casino RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Buccaneer State Park, Waveland, Mississippi

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on the section over looking the Gulf of Mexico. Fantastic view. When checking in the main campground is beyond the office. Looked very nice but we wanted the beach view. The girl checking us in was not helpful in telling us how to get to the site. We had to drive through the campground to find it and then found out it was outside of the main campground. A little confusing. She also wasn't helpful when we checked in; registered us and that was it. No campground map, no instructions, etc. We camped at Buccaneer State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The only tip I can offer is enjoy your stay but if you are going to stay longer than you initially anticipate and you book on the website; for each transaction they add $6.70. We originally booked 3 nights and the transaction fee was added. We decided to stay additional nights and each time we had to pay the extra transaction fee.

Pensacola Beach RV Resort, Gulf Breeze, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in one of the premium spots right on the water. Very nice resort but due to the weather we didn't spend too much time outside. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The only slight problem I encountered was finding the trash cans!! We camped at Pensacola Beach RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If staying on the bay front sites, they are set up for motorhomes so the picnic table is on the wrong side of the camper. I do believe they had to separate poles for each site for the utilities that could handle either campers or motorhomes. The picnic table was the onlly problem.

Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park), Andalusia, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at Point A from December 27 until January 3rd. Very peaceful and serene. Had a lakefront site. The owner was absolutely fantastic. He helped us set the camper, was there for any questions/problems. He is the new owner and lives on site. He even came to the campers and emptied the tanks so you don't have to move the rig to the dump station. They are working on many improvements. I would recommend this campground if you are ever in the area; you won't be disappointed. We camped at Point A Park (formerly A Sweet Home Alabama Campground and RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
