We have camped here with three other families for the past 6 years. This was definitely our last time here. We have noticed over the past few years since new management has taken over, that things have gone a little down hill. The campground rates have gone up significantly for just a water/electric site. They also now charge a $3 per night resort fee. We booked a year ago for this past trip and they charged us more when we checked in due to an "increase in rates". However, when we booked a year ago, they told us we were paid in full. There is also a $5 fee for a gate card, but you must use a credit card for a deposit on the key. They charge you the monies and then when you return the key, they refund your credit card. But, you must have the actual credit card when you return the key. I saw a few people losing their deposit because they came in two cars and the person that originally got the key had already left. We found the staff this time too busy to be bothered with things. The straw that finally broke the camel's back for our group this weekend was the camp store. We let our 11 year old boys go to the store to get ice cream. They charge $2.25 plus tax. When the boys got back they informed us that they did not get any change because the store did not have any. So instead of getting change from somewhere or down-charging, they upcharged the boys. They charged them each $3 and told them they didn't have change. Before the weekend was over, we had originally booked for next year, but when we got home we all cancelled our sites and will find somewhere else to keep our annual Memorial Day Weekend going. We camped at Spring Gulch Resort Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We have been going here for years and always book a year ahead of time. The restrooms and showers are always sparkling clean. We visited a few years ago when the hurricane hit. The campground was so muddy, but the bathrooms were still very clean. This is a great family campground. We camped at Frontier Town Family Campground in a Motorhome.
