Aux Arc COE , Ozark, Arkansas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful campground with spacious, asphalt level site. Nice pole to hang a lantern on. Covered picnic table and a fire ring. LOTS of room between sites. As others have said - lots of trees - we had site F16 and were able to get satellite TV great! Showers are in a typical bathhouse type setting. Clean and adequate - nothing fancy but fine for us. The only drawback was that all the sites are back-in sites. We had fun watching the barges go through the locks on the dam. We camped at Aux Arc COE in a Travel Trailer.

Mustang Run RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is right off I-40 (noisy) and right in the middle of congested traffic trying to get back on Interstate. There are hotels, restaurants, retail places all in the area and it is very busy. The campground itself is expensive but very well kept. Nice, long, level concrete pads. Plenty of room to maneuver and park. Clubhouse is very nice and modern. Bathrooms are clean and showers are roomy- fair water pressure -but again,(as in so many places it seems) - no place to put your shampoo, clothes, etc. They need a bench in the dressing area! There is only one hook. we were near the building so wi-fi worked great. We camped at Mustang Run RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

My only complaint about the roads was the big curb you have to drive over to get to your site. All the sites are like this. We had a site near the office so wi-fi worked perfectly. Laundry is very $$$. $3 to wash ad $2 to dry. Did 4 loads of laundry and it cost $20. Showers were clean and roomy. Had a nice hanging shelf to put your shampoo, soap, etc (it seems many showers in campgrounds have nowhere to put this stuff!). Good water pressure. Campground is near I-40 so there is some traffic noise but it was not too bad. Office staff very nice, friendly, helpful. Nice gift shop. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tucumcari KOA, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Site was long, level, pull thru. It was just an overnight stopover so we opted for the Electric/Water site (didn't really need sewer). The made to order breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Laundry room looked very clean. We didn't go in the restroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very convenient to I-40. We would stay there again. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice campground for the price. The retro travel trailers are cool. They have tried to keep the retro/historic feel of Rt. 66 at this campground but that is kinda hard with all the traffic on I-40 whizzing by. Nothing fancy but overall a great value. Bathrooms are clean. Water pressure fair. Gift shop/trading post has local crafts, jams & jellies, etc. We would stay here again. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Take a day trip to Santa Fe - go to the Plaza and Railroad Area - wonderful shops, museums, restaurants, galleries. Take a day trip to Los Alamos - interesting museum, walking tour about the Manhattan Project and the role Los Alamos played in ending WW II. Flea Market on Saturday at the fairgrounds was mostly junk - not worth it in my opinion

Grants / Cibola Sands KOA, Grants, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very average/fair KOA. It was a little pricey in my opinion - for a gravel/dirt site and the bathrooms were not up to my liking. The shower stall was SMALL (I am not a huge person) and difficult to turn around in with the shower curtain right up against me as I showered. Nowhere to put shampoo, soap. The bathrooms need to be updated BAD! They were however, clean. The gentleman at check in was nice and helpful - and we got welcome cookies. There was a continental breakfast (very basic) included in the rate which was adequate. There were about 3 trains that passed by that night which might be a problem for some people. The campground was practically deserted which was nice. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Holbrook / Petrified Forest KOA, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty average KOA. Sewer connection was set up really high above ground. Bathrooms were dated but clean, fair water pressure for shower. Laundry was clean, well-kept. Very nice gift shop and groceries/cold drinks. Easy drive to Safeway and fast food and gas. My only complaint was that the place was practically deserted and they crammed all of us that were there (about 6) into one row side by side - maybe everyone requested near the bathrooms like we did?? We camped at Holbrook / Petrified Forest KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Petrified Forest & painted desert are nearby (40 minute drive). Canyon de Chelly is quite a drive (practically 2 hours) - - -but the rock formations were breathtaking second only to Grand Canyon. Hubbell trading Post is a MUST - so interesting and they have wonderful Navajo Rugs/wallhangings for sale.

Flagstaff KOA, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Park is older and needs updating. Piles of junk, old phone booths, old golf carts. Noticed electrical wiring going into office/bathhouse that looked like the house on Green Acres TV show! Difficult to get into site. Sites are close together, unlevel and muddy. Congested traffic at check in. Bathroom/shower was outdated but clean and surprisingly warm and not drafty! Best water pressure of any campground we've ever stayed in. I would not stay here again. We camped at Flagstaff KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Kingman KOA, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice level sites with nicely pruned bushes in between for privacy. Wonderful handicapped shower stall with bench, private toilet, great water pressure, hand held shower and plenty of hooks for your "stuff". Located in a quiet residential area. We were given an "easy in - easy out" near the bathhouse since we were here only one night. We camped at Kingman KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

You definitely get what you pay for. Level, paved pull thru with hookups that were all in good repair. Bathroom/laundry very clean with large showers/dressing area. Water pressure was not as much as I would have liked. EXCELLENT WI-FI - no problems at all. Shuttle will drive you to the railway to ride to Grand Canyon.

If train noise bothers you at night - would not recommend. There were at least 2 trains per night. We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Peach Country RV Park, Stonewall, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice experience for us. We are new to RVing and all the folks here made us feel welcome (there are many long time regulars). Nice & quiet, clean shower (only one -but it was always available when we needed it), nice clubhouse.

Great location as Stonewall is centrally located to all the sights (LBJ ranch, wineries, Luckenback, Johnson City, Fredricksburg). We camped at Peach Country RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
