Candy Hill Campground, Winchester, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Staff is rude. Manager, who I talked with, sets the tone and it obviously filters down. Some of the check in ladies are nice. It is on major highway. Highway noise. Luxury sites are closest to the hwy. when high capacity power drops, it was down to 107 volts, lights dimming. They are doing you a favor to let you camp there. Park is clean, kept well, good dog run. Some sites are roomy, most are close. We camped at Candy Hill Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Medoc Mountain State Park, Hollister, North Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, well kept. Only noise was the wind. 4 campers in park. Water is NOT on each site. Outside ring sites are nicer. Would suggest staying on far side of loop from group camps due to noise if occupied. Low or no cell signal. Nice trails and stream. Stars are awesome. We camped at Medoc Mountain State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gulf State Park Campground, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We visited 15 years ago. Since then 3 hurricanes hit so most sites have no shade. Grounds well kept but is is a mega campground with 500 sites. Must drive to beach about a mile. Beach is very nice, wide, white sand. Would not visit again. Fire ant hills everywhere so watch where you and pets walk We camped at Gulf State Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
