Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

A wonderful stay with fabulous staff. We stayed in the "pet section" which had good walking area for our dogs and nice views of the water from many sites. Dog bags everywhere though we always carry our own. Tight driving for MotorHome due to all the trees but those were a big part of its charm along with the water views, bike and walking paths and nearby beaches (including a dog beach!) Many bath houses which ensured one was nearby. Water & electric but no sewer at all sites. Good camp store. We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring bicycles or rent. Lots of paved trails over to the beaches, Fort de Soto and the dog parks & dog beach. Staying for more than a few days, a tag-along portable holding tank (like a SmartTote) would be very useful.

Raccoon Creek Recreation Area (Military FamCamp), Tampa, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Called in advance, couldn't get answer. Emailed & told to check back. Emailed again & told dry camping only though 5 spaces near us stayed empty our entire 2day stay. Don't put a mat down on their nonexistent grass to cover the decaying dog poo left by others. Staff condescending and don't even begin to believe the posted office times. Horrible directions- sent us to a closed gate and we had to unhook toad to turn around. Poor signage to let you know you are heading to the right place. We camped at Raccoon Creek Recreation Area (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Eagle Hammock RV Park (Military FamCamp), Kings Bay, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Starting at Front gate with the courteous & helpful security staff, it only got better. Easy to locate, easy to maneuver. The FC staff very friendly and helpful. (Helpful is high praise when you have no knowledge of the CG.) Well worth the stay; will definitely return. We camped at Eagle Hammock RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Pilot travel center at exit. Walmart straight out Stimson gate a couple miles along with several restaurants.
