Honeysuckle Meadows RV Park (formerly Cove Mountain RV Park), Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay at this campground. For us it's a good location away from all the craziness in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Easy access into the National Park from here. The sites are spaced apart pretty well but most are not level. Some are excessive and we couldn't level the coach so we had to move. The staff is very friendly and will help in any way they can. Utilities all work well including the cable tv. WIFI is outstanding. Verizon signal is good. Interior roads are good but a little tight in spots for big rigs. We camped at Honeysuckle Meadows RV Park (formerly Cove Mountain RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park, Mccalla, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a busy, family oriented campground with a lot going on all the time. There is a small train for the kids with a very loud engine that runs during the day. Lots of kids on bikes. Sites are pretty close together. One huge negative for us is that it's not big rig friendly. Not for class A diesel pushers anyway. If you get assigned a site in campground 3, it's on the other side of a small bridge with weight restrictions. Our coach at 36,000 pounds was too heavy to cross. We ended up at a makeshift campsite with only 30A power. It worked for the one night we needed. Interior roads are pretty tight as well. Verizon signal was one bar. We camped at Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park in a Motorhome.

Bogue Chitto State park, Franklinton, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great State Park campground. This is our second stay here. It's clean, quiet, sites are pretty level, full hook ups and the park has nice hiking/biking trails. All for $25/night. Easy access for big rigs. The uplands campground section is more popular and nicer I believe. Weekends can get a little busy but during the week it's very nice. Verizon signal was good. We camped at Bogue Chitto State park in a Motorhome.

Robbins RV Park, Beaumont, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is fine for a an overnight which was all we needed. Very friendly and helpful owner & staff. They go out of their way to make sure you get settled in. Place is a little spartan. Not much for amenities but you're not paying for it either. Sites are a little close together if there's someone in the next site over. No wifi but Verizon signal was very good. We camped at Robbins RV Park in a Motorhome.

Houston West RV Park, Brookshire, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice RV park if you need access to Katy or west Houston. Lots of folks spending the winter here. It's clean and well run. Decent wifi with Tengo Wireless although my Apple devices couldn't connect. Windows machines worked fine. Hookups all worked fine. A bit of highway noise from I-10 but not bad. Verizon signal was good. Interior roads easy for big rigs. We camped at Houston West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Malaquite Campground, Corpus Christi, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground if you want to be near the beach. No hookups. The sites are a little tight but not too bad. Our coach is 43' and it was a tight fit. The sites are in two parallel rows with a road between them. There are turnarounds at each end. Good enough for big rigs. A big negative is that there is NO Verizon coverage here. None. You can get some signal if you go outside the campground near the entrance. It was also very windy when we were here. Coated everything in a salt film. Made our stay pretty unpleasant. We camped at Malaquite Campground in a Motorhome.

South Llano River State Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice state park campground. The sites are nice with good space between neighboring sites. Some are a bit unlevel but we were able to move to a more level spot. Nice camp host. Two negatives. One is you have to pay a park entrance fee on top of the campground fee. For two people this was an extra $10 making this a $30 campsite for the one night we needed. Second is there is NO Verizon signal here. None. Not good when you full-time like we do. If those negatives are not an issue for you then this is a nice place to stay. We camped at South Llano River State Park in a Motorhome.

BC Ranch RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park with only about 4 sites for transients. The majority of the sites are permanent or seasonal residents. The four sites all share a common pedestal for power and water. There's four hookups but they're all located in the same spot. 30A only. Water but no sewer. Make sure your cord and water hose is long enough. Fine for an overnight. Wouldn't stay longer than that. Nice people. We camped at BC Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Brantley Lake State Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Nice State Park campground. 1/2 the sites are reserved and 1/2 are first come first served. If you only stay one night they'll let you stay in the reserved section if space is available. We did that. Need an overnight on our way through. Had a 30 amp site for $14. 50amp sites were $18. No sewer. Roads are easy to navigate in a big rig. Verizon signal was good. We camped at Brantley Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

High Desert RV Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV park. We needed a place to hole up during a wind storm and this met the need nicely. Close to I-40. Good wifi signal with usable data throughput. A rarity in RV parks. Clean, and the sites weren't too close together. Easy to maneuver for big rigs. Verizon signal was 4 bars. We camped at High Desert RV Park in a Motorhome.

Homolovi Ruins State Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice State Park campground with full hookups in season. During the winter they turn off the water. Easy to navigate for big rigs and the pull through site we were in was plenty big for the motor home and Jeep. Took a look at the showers but didn't use them. They looked clean and functional. Perfect stop for an overnight as we were just passing through. Close to I-40. We camped at Homolovi Ruins State Park in a Motorhome.

Watchman Campground (NPS Campground), Zion National Park, Utah

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Visited Zion Zion last Fall and decided to come back in Winter. Stayed at Watchman both times. Wonderful campground right inside the park. Electric only but you're inside the Park which is key. B loop was closed for construction so we were in the A loop this time. A little tighter than the B loop for big rigs but it was fine. We'll definitely be back as Zion is one of our favorite places. We camped at Watchman Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Sand Hollow State Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fantastic campground. Very well designed, the sites are spacious and the interior roads are easy to navigate for big rigs. The park has tons of other recreation opportunities as well like ORV and boating. The Utah State Parks seem to be doing it right. All the utilities worked well and Verizon signal was good with good LTE data. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Motorhome.

Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is an ok campground for an overnight stay as you're passing through. I wouldn't stay longer than that. VERY tight sites and tough to navigate for big rigs. They really pack 'em in here. Pretty noisy from the road and the jets from Nellis AFB can be very loud. Utilities were fine and wifi and cable tv worked well. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Sunset (NPS Campground), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground in Furnace Creek for dry camping. Location is superb and central to the main sights in Death Valley. It's a large gravel parking lot but it's fairly level and clean. Easy to navigate for big rigs. They have GREAT camp hosts as well. Dump station with water on site. No Verizon signal but Extended 3G. Data throughput is poor. Sporadic internet connectivity. We camped at Sunset (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.
