Wolf Creek Campground USFS, Alpine, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a dry camping National Forest campground on the Snake River. There is a potable water faucet to fill your tank but no dump station. There are pit toilets but no running water in them. There are about 6 pull through sites out of 20 suitable for big rigs. We stayed in site 1 which was very easy to get into and out of. Many of the smaller sites are not very level. The one downside is it's close to US 89 so road noise is there. It quiets down at night. We camped at Wolf Creek Campground USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

Juniper Campground, Ririe, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground and an excellent value. Everything is clean and well maintained. The sites are paved and the interior roads are easy to navigate for big rigs. The camp host is very friendly & helpful. Good proximity to Idaho Falls. Very quiet at night. The only downside is the sprinkler system that comes on at night and sprays down your rig. We camped at Juniper Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

2 Bar Lazy H RV Park & Campground, Butte, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is OK for an overnight which is all we needed. It's a bit rough around the edges so I would stay for an extended period. There do appear to be some seasonal workers staying there. I couldn't get the wifi to work. We stayed in a 30 amp site but they also have 50 amp ones. Sewer connection was pretty busted up but it worked. Couldn't leave it attached though. Interior roads were spacious enough for big rigs. Pull throughs were long enough. Verizon was 2 bars. We camped at 2 Bar Lazy H RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Silverado RV Park, Eureka, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground for an overnight stay as you're traveling through. Price is a little high for what you get but it is Full Hook-Up. Wifi works pretty well. All pull through sites. Easy for big rigs. Fairly quiet at night. Strong Verizon signal. Would stay again. We camped at Silverado RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kicking Horse Campground (Parks Canada), Yoho National Park, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground that can accommodate big rigs in the meadow section. Plenty of sites for smaller rigs and tents in the other sections. It's first come first served so arrive early. Pull through sites and the location and views are great. Bathrooms and showers but we didn't use them. No hookups. There is a dump station available. Friendly staff who monitored things and kept the place clean. Kicking Horse river flows behind the campground. We camped at Kicking Horse Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Icefields Centre RV (Parks Canada), Jasper National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This is nothing but a parking lot for RV's adjacent to the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre. No hookups. No dump station. The lot is very sloped so leveling is a challenge. Its value is its location, right in the middle of the Icefields Parkway. And the views are amazing. It's also very inexpensive and can be the campsite of last resort when all the others are full. Come early or come late. In the middle of the day this place is packed full with daytime RV visitors. After 6:00 pm it empties out and has plenty of room for overnight stays. Self registration station. Generator hours in the morning and the evening. We camped at Icefields Centre RV (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Hornbeck Creek Provincial Recreation Area, Edson, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a no frills, no hookups, spartan roadside campground that's great for an overnight while travelling through. Inexpensive but clean and well maintained. No water except a hand pump marked non-potable. Pit toilets only. You need to be self contained. It's a bit noisy from the highway but it serves it purpose. It has a day use area and a pavilion for picnics, etc. We camped at Hornbeck Creek Provincial Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Willey West Campground, Drayton Valley, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This was a good park for an overnight stay. Wouldn't go much longer than that. Had an electric only site, 30A. Friendly staff, interior roads were dirt and a bit bumpy. Lots of trees and some sites were a bit tight. Dump station on site but cost $5 cdn to use. We camped at Willey West Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wabamun Lake Provincial Park, Wabamum, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We made a reservation here but didn't get to stay. The site was too tight to get into! This is not a big rig friendly campground. We tried every which way to maneuver the rig into the site but the access road was too narrow with heavy brush on all sides. Very overgrown. Decided not to scratch up the rig or the truck and left. Hopefully will be able to get a refund. We camped at Wabamun Lake Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sundance RV Park and Campground, Coram, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This has the potential to be a better park if they just did some maintenance and tree trimming. Location is good for accessing the West Glacier entrance to the park. It's spartan but it does have 50A power & water plus there are bathrooms and showers. One of the two showers in the bathhouse near us was down for repairs all week. They were cleaned everyday. The interior roads are tight for big rigs and you will scrape the side of your rig on tree branches. These could easily be trimmed. Trains run through nearby pretty frequently day and night. Wifi supposedly exists up by the office but I couldn't connect. The office is infrequently staffed. You may have to wander the grounds to look for the owner. We camped at Sundance RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ghost Resevoir Campground, Cochrane, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is adjacent to the day use area for Ghost Creek Reservoir. We stayed in the section furthest away from the marina. No hook ups and only pit toilets. There is some road noise but not too bad. Sites were spacious. Self pay kiosk. Good enough for a night or two although it looked like the locals used it as a base camp for boating on the reservoir. Some of the camp sites had multiple families in them with all their stuff spread out. We camped at Ghost Resevoir Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Heart of Glacier RV Park, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is run by Red Eagle Motel. It's pretty spartan with no bathrooms or shower facilities. It does have full hookups including 50A power. It's only real attraction is it's very close to the Saint Mary entrance to Glacier NP. That's why we stayed. Gravel sites and dirt/gravel roads. Fairly level. A few of the sites are pretty tight. They do have picnic tables. If you come, go straight to the campground which is right off 89 and called Heart of Glacier Campground. The office is at the Red Eagle motel which is up a steep and winding road on the opposite side of 89. No need to haul your rig up there only to find out you need to come back down to the campground. Ask me how I know. We camped at Heart of Glacier RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Western Inn & Campground, Columbia Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park adjacent to the motel. It's fine for a night or two. Mostly 30 amp with a few 50 amp sites. Sites are close together. As far as a base camp for Glacier it's a little far but it can be done. We're moving farther in for the rest of our stay. Verizon signal was ok. River Edge Resort, Alberton, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This would be a nice campground if it weren't for the highway and train noise. It is bordered on one side by a busy highway with loud trucks and on the other side there is a set of train tracks. Trains go by every few hours day & night. To register you have to go into the restaurant and pay at the bar. The internal roads are very tight for big rigs. Site spacing is very close. Verizon signal was very strong. Good enough for an overnight but not much more than that. We camped at River Edge Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
