We are from Michigan. My wife is a travel nurse and we travel across the country for 3 month stints at each location. We like small town America and do our best to stay out of the big cities.

This is not a typical RV park. This more of a campground setting with huge lots(8,000 sq. ft.) I have room for my 43' 5th wheel, a 14' enclosed trailer that we use to haul a golf cart and bikes, and both of our vehicles with plenty of room to spare. There is no extra charge for the extra vehicles and trailers. It has a lot of shade with tall pines all around. The management is very friendly. The park does have some permanent residents, but the back half of the park is dedicated to RV's only. The Biz Johnson trail is about a mile away. The sites are full hook-up with 50 amp service. This place is a diamond in the rough compared to other places that stack you in like sardines. You have room for all your toys and then some. The park will provide you with picnic table and fire ring at your request. This park is only ten minutes from the historic town of Chester and Lake Almanor. With a little more attention paid to the grounds maintenance, this place would be an absolute dream come true for summer campers and four wheelers or boaters. It also has paved roads in very good condition. There are no concrete patios, so you'll need a patio mat. We camped at Lassen West Village in a Fifth Wheel.
Susanville is about 20 miles away and is where you'll find Walmart, restaurants and the casino. There are gas stations, restaurants and a museum here in Westwood. Lassen Volcano is only a 30-40 minute drive away. The next town over is Chester, which appears to be the hotspot for summer vacationers. The town goes from about 10,000 people to 50,000 people in the summer due to Lake Almanor. The fishing is excellent with Large and Small mouth bass, German Brown Trout, Pike and others.

We are staying here for 3 months as my wife is a traveling nurse working in the area. We absolutely love this place! We read all of the reviews before coming out here. There are some bad reviews or old reviews I'd like to address. Yes, there is an egg farm about a mile west and you can only get a whiff of it about 5% of the time. I can tell by the population in the park right now that those negative reviews are having an impact. Another topic of poor reviews is the lack of good cell service. I came prepared by purchasing a cell booster for the weak cell signal. But to our surprise when we arrived, we were getting 4 bars of signal. We found out from another resident that Verizon had just installed a new tower a mile away just 2 weeks before our arrival. Another concern for us was the lack of good park Wi-Fi, since reading the bad reviews. I have been playing with it and getting 3 mbs consistently, which is plenty for us to stream shows on our Roku device (And it is absolutely free). They have 4 or 5 Wi-Fi transmitters throughout the park. I'm not sure if that is a new addition or not, but the internet is working just fine and saving us on our Verizon data plan. We also took a trip through a nearby RV park just to see the differences. Man, that place had RV's stacked like wood. You had just enough room for one vehicle on your lot. Compared to that place, we have acreage. Our closest neighbor is about 40' away; the other neighbor is close to 70' away. Of course we are on a premium lot, which are double lots. I could park 9 cars in our lot. The premium lots are $380/month at this park compared to $580+/month at other parks. There are plenty of open lots, which gives you a very spacious feeling. It is very quiet and peaceful! This park has more to do than I can handle. They have Pickle Ball courts, Shuffleboard, a Pool, a Gym, Bingo, Desert off-roading, Billiards, Ping Pong, Jam sessions, Coffee every morning for the guys, etc. AAA+ We camped at Saddle Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
If you are feeling claustrophobic at the park you are staying at, you may consider this place. It is serene! Shopping is not nearby; it is about 22 miles away, but the views are amazing. There are a group of people who have side by sides and get together every Wednesday to ride into the mountains. They took me out the other day and it was awesome. Golf carts are welcome. Three major gas stations nearby with restaurants. Excellent Maintenance crews working everyday.
