Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages, Indio, California

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park, but not in a great area of the valley. However it is fully gated so overall, quite secure. They have a great regular clientele that are really friendly and welcome newcomers. Don't stay in sites that back along the park with houses on the other side because many of them have dogs that bark at all hours and the stupid city of Indio won't actually do anything about it, even when dogs are abused, locked up outside, and suffering - god knows, we tried several times to get them to do something... We camped at Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Koutouki Greek Restaurant in Palm Desert may be the best Greek food we have ever been to. Well worth the drive.

Malibu Beach RV Park, Malibu, California

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park, but quite nice. Because of ocean, lots are smaller, but they have some larger. I would suggest staying at an upper site as the view is better than the first row and you are a bit further away from the highway below and get sun longer. Sites are sand so bring a mat to sit on and keep sand out of your RV. Internet was weak, but OK if you sat outside. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Go into Santa Monica for shopping as pricing and options are much better than Malibu.

Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This is a VERY nice park. Ocean views are OK, but not spectacular as there is a parking lot and green space between RV sites and ocean, but still quite nice. Park could use some pickle ball courts, but it is close to walking paths, the marina, bike paths, and the beach, so lots to do. It is a close drive to Mexican border and the trolly (train) station is close by that will take you almost anywhere. Internet was fairly good if you don't stream. Pool area is very nice, but a bit small. I would recommend this park for short or long term. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I would try to get a spot that backs onto the marina as nice grass space and views - better value that beach views.

Two Springs RV Resort, North Palm Springs, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

It is an older park - roads are quite rough. Facilities are nice to use, but being in North Palm Springs, you are in a high wind area and in fact, the wind farm is about 1000 ft from the park. We enjoyed staying there, but it is about a 15 min drive to Palm Springs and nothing really close for shopping or restaurants. We inquired 3 times about buying a lot there and the owners never responded, so assuming they are either not selling or not interested in selling lots. We camped at Two Springs RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the gondola up the mountain for a hike, lunch or dinner. Worth the trip. Take a day and head to Joshua Tree Nat. Park. Don't waste your time going to Salvation Mountain or Slab City or Salton Sea unless you have a depression issue and want to feel better about how good you actually have it compared to others in these areas...

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Park is great EXCEPT their internet sucks badly. Park keeps saying they will fix it, but nothing ever changes. Their security people are a bit over the top and some of their rules are ridiculous like no stairs other than RV stairs, trailers/dollies have to always be connected to RV, can't wash your RV in the park, even if you are parked there over the winter, etc. Also a fair bit of highway noise in the morning if you are on the west side of park. We camped at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Calgary West Campground, Calgary, Alberta

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

The people that own and run this park are NOT RV'ers and do not understand the RV lifestyle. They would not allow propane fire pits or BBQ's or brickett BBQ's. When we tried to explain "propane" the owners yelled at us and threatened to call the police to have us evicted. We tried to sit outside and watch a movie - the volume was not loud at all, but the owners told us we had to shut the TV off at 10 pm. The RV sites face into each others front yard, so you have to share space with people you don't even know. The lots are unlevel and the roads are gravel with tons of pot holes. You have to share a 30 amp service with the RV that backs up against you (no space at all) so if both RV's turn on the microwave at the same time, you blow breakers outside. This may be the WORST RV park I have ever stayed in because the owners are very rude and have no appreciation of what RV'ing is all about. We camped at Calgary West Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nothing remotely close by to do or shop at. You are at least 20 minutes to anything decent.
