Pinnacles Campground, Pinnacles National Park, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

For a new National Park, this campground needs serious work. There are no bathrooms in the RV area, and the closest one near the store/visitor center was dirty and run down. I suggest leveling the building and building a new one. I ended up using the bathroom in the tent area, which was actually slightly closer and was clean. There was wi-fi for $10 on one device for the entire stay, but it only worked at the store/visitor center. That did not bother me. The store is fairly well stocked. There are hiking trails and it is very quiet at night. My picnic table was in crummy shape and probably needed to be replaced. I noticed some other picnic tables looked new. Overall, the NPS needs to put some money into this campground to bring it up to the same standard as other NPS campgrounds. We camped at Pinnacles Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Black Rock Campground (NPS Campgound), Yucca Valley, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is just inside the park boundary, but does not have vehicle access to the rest of the park. There are numerous hiking trails and it is close to services in the town of Yucca Valley. The campground is on a slope. There is water available and in the bathrooms. The nature center has some books/gifts available and there is a ranger present. The interior roads are in rough shape but navigable. We camped at Black Rock Campground (NPS Campgound) in a Travel Trailer.

Furnace Creek (NPS Campground), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a National Park campground. There are no hooks up for water, electricity, etc. There is a picnic table and fire ring. The bathroom was near by and while it got dirty due to high use, it was cleaned every day. The visitor center is a five minute walk away. Past that is a small general store, a post office and gift shop. The Furnace Creek Inn has showers for $5 per person per day. There is so much to do at Death Valley, this is a great location to see it all from. We camped at Furnace Creek (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Bakersfield RV Resort, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great place to stay, and I'd stay here again. They have a person guide you to your spot. There was plenty of room for my trailer and tow vehicle in the spot. There is a restaurant and store on the premises. The bathroom and showers were clean. It is near grocery stores, etc., too. We camped at Bakersfield RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice quiet RV park not far from the freeway. The bathrooms were clean and neat. I'd stay here again. I arrived after hours and there was an envelope waiting for me with the info I needed to find my spot. We camped at Waiiaka RV Park (formerly Waiiaka Trailer Haven) in a Travel Trailer.

Tolt-MacDonald Park & Campground, Carnation, Washington

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a county park that has spots for RV's and tents. The RV spots are pull throughs with power and water. It is more like a small state park than a county park. Downtown Carnation is a short walk away if you need something. The park is 30-40 minutes away from Seattle and Bellevue, making it a nice quick get away to the country. We camped at Tolt-MacDonald Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lower Falls Campground, Amboy, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is near the scenic Lower Falls of the Lewis River. The toilets are pit composting toilets. There is no cell service, not for many miles. The road south of the campground is rough. Mostly it is asphalt with frequent large dips to bang your hitch on, and near the campground it is gravel with some rugged/steep spots. We camped at Lower Falls Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park. There are two campgrounds, one in the forest and one near the beach. There are trails to hike, beaches to walk and nature to enjoy. Not to mention there are old gun emplacements from when this was a coastal defense fort. We camped at Fort Flagler State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small state park on the water, not far from Seattle. It is clean and well maintained. Privacy is fairly good, with bushes/shrubs between spaces. There is a small beach and a number of hiking/biking trails. I stayed here for a couple of days. We camped at Manchester State Park in a Travel Trailer.
