River's End Campground & RV Park, Tybee Island, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Older Park, small roads, some sites are very tight. Sites on southern side of Fort Ave have no shade. Walking distance to river and beach, restaurants, lighthouse. Overall great location, but the only game in town, thus the price. Clean facilities, friendly staff. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gerald's Pig & Shrimp and The Crab Shack were the best of all restaurants visited. Walking distance to Savannah River and beach saves a lot of money as all of Tybee Island is Park and Pay at a rate of $2.00 per hour.

Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground), St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

There are 3 sections to this park. The Grove is the oldest section with gravel and tight spots, The Pond is a newer section with gravel, some patio sites and a bit more room, The Oasis is the newest (opened in March 2018) with brick lots, patios and brand new bathhouse, fitness room and laundry. Smaller dog park. Cable TV, daily trash pick up at site. WiFi was spotty, but larger bandwidth can be purchased. Location to St. Augustine is perfect. Park is quiet. Pool is nice and clean, with showers and toilets. Weekly socials, water aerobic, live music, breakfast. Trolley Tours picks up at Campground. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Trolley Tour pick up at Campground. Crescent Beach, one of the nicest in FL, 15 minutes via Wildwood, US1 and FL 206. South Beach Grill in Parking Lot on Crescent Beach is only one with Beach view. Other than that enjoy downtown and the history of the city.

Jolly Roger Travel Park, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with access to swimming in the ocean. Nice pier for fishing. Great sunset views. Not so good, spots at seawall get flooded after heavy rains to the point where it's difficult to get in and out. Park plans to fix this problem. Lack of supervision after 5 pm results in noise on the pier and Campground. We stayed for several weeks and did not see anybody clean the sites once. Washer/Dryer very expensive and again nobody cleans neither the room nor the machines. Otherwise enjoyed the sunsets. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Marathon at the moment only has a Publix for shopping, everything else are gas stations. Kayak at Curry Hammock State Park is great. Enjoy the Atlantic beach at Sombrero Beach, just down the road from Publix.

Sandusky / Bayshore KOA , Sandusky, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Typical KOA these days with lots of permanent residents, older park, tight sites, outdated washer/dryer, nature trail a joke, constant train noise night and day, 2 pools both full of kids. Close to shopping and Cedar Point and that is the only reason to stay here. WIFI OK. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

Older park, mostly uphill, not easy to park, problematic during rains. Deluxe patio site next to sewer field!! Pool not close to campground but clean. Restrooms next to pool terrible. Restrooms and washer/dryer next to office dated. We camped at Canton / East Sparta KOA in a Motorhome.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Were in older section and back in, which we would recommend. Enter via Mount Comfort RV entrance. Heavy rains during stay completely flooded the "new" section downhill. Staff seems to be in their teens and no older.

Convenient to Indianapolis and it seems only choice in town. WI-FI spotty to non existent, needed jetpack and AT&T hotspot to supplement. Pool only for kids due to change to water park, no swimming!!! Laundry OK, older equipment, but acceptable. Site long enough for 33' MH and Mini Cooper. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA, Corbin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Tight campground, tight entry, tight turns, tight and close sites. Pull through sites share patios with neighbor. Breaker blew after 1st week, reply "just happened last week, need to fix again but do not know when". Changed sites to long pull through with 2 sites on behind the other. When asked if somebody would park in front of us, were told "we do not hand out that site". Of course the night before our departure they did!! Agreed with the couple in front of us on their and our departure times to make it work. Too bad for KOA, as the location is great. Based on unprofessional campground crew, we will not return. We camped at Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA in a Motorhome.
