Albuquerque Central KOA, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for two months while my husband had surgery and rehabbed a torn rotator cuff and it was among the very best campgrounds we've stayed in. Helpful, friendly staff; asphalt pads mostly flat; fairly wide sites with picnic tables; lots of shopping nearby. WiFi mostly sucks depending on how close you are to the repeater. They have 4 dog parks that are kept clean, but only one of them has any sort of shade or a place to sit down. Also the pool could use some umbrellas, but we loved our stay here and we'll be back for a 3-month stay next Spring (we're full-timers, but based out of here). We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Motorhome.

Chicago Northwest KOA, Union, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Like all KOAs, it is well-maintained and the staff is excellent. My only complaints are that K-9 Corral pet area is located at an inconvenient distance from most of the park, as are the garbage containers. Many KOAs offer trash pickup if left at your campsite between certain hours. This one does not and the garbage dumpsters are another long hike. People with mobility issues generally must drive to the pet corral or the garbage dumpsters. We camped at Chicago Northwest KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Metra train station is 15 miles away, $8 weekday to Chicago, $10 for a 2-day weekend pass Sat & Sun--worth every penny!

Denver Meadows RV Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Tacky is about the best you can say. You get a bare site with electric, water, and sewer--and nothing else. No cable (lots of broadcast channels), no wifi. The best thing here is its proximity to the light rail train, the RTD A line; $5.20 round trip to downtown in a 15-minute ride. We camped at Denver Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.
