Columbus Woods-N-Waters, Columbus, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Good overnight stop but a bit cramped and really not for longer stay. We had a long pull through and did not have to unhook for the night which made leaving in the morning easier. I would give it a higher rating but they advertise wi/fi but it did not work nor from my understanding has it worked for a while. So either fix it or don't advertise that you have it. Facilities are well maintained and the bathrooms and showers were clean and modern. We camped at Columbus Woods-N-Waters in a Motorhome.

Adrian Municipal Park, Adrian, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for an overnight stay. Close to the highway and yes a bit of highway noise at night but not bad. Grounds are fairly clean but could use some attention. The bathrooms were fairly clean and some of the showers were needing repair. Still lots of hot water and a good shower in one of the nicer stalls. Sites were fairly level and lots of room between sites. A good one night stop momdoc. We camped at Adrian Municipal Park in a Motorhome.

Badlands / White River KOA, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We do not stay at KOAs and for me the value is not there. The grounds were clean and well kept and staff friendly. The bathrooms were clean and lots of hot water but the showers were small and quite cramped especially with the folded chair open to hold your stuff, as there is no bench and few hooks. The water also backed up and did not drain well.

Food at the "kookshack" was bad at best. The value was not there either as for $48 we hand only water and electric and no sewer hookup. The site however was quite big and lots of room between sites for us. I don't think I would stay here again. We camped at Badlands / White River KOA in a Motorhome.

Prairie View Campground, Lusk, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Great place for an overnight stop. Owners are helpful and had information on the area. The sites were level and a good amount of room between sites. Even some shade trees around. The pull through sites were large and we did not have to unhook our toad. The bathrooms are new and very clean and the shower was terrific. There was some road noise but not a big deal. The place was pretty empty as well and a couple of full timers. If needing an overnight stop again we would stay here. momdoc. We camped at Prairie View Campground in a Motorhome.

Ridgway State Park, Ridgway, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

.We camped here for 5 days while exploring the area. As with most Colorado state parks this one is top notch. Our site 113 in the Elk Ridge section was quite secluded with picnic table and fire ring, but did need some serious leveling on our part. Hard to see your neighbors. The restrooms (pay $ 1.00 showers), showers and laundry were all clean and well maintained. The location is perfect for exploring the area with Ouray only a 15 min ride away. If in the area we would stay here in a heartbeat. momdoc. We camped at Ridgway State Park in a Motorhome.

Ancient Cedars at Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We split our time here with a week between two short stays. Our sites were up on the hill (45 and 62) for smaller RVs only but very good separation between sites and lots of privacy. The grounds are well kept and restrooms clean but a bit of a hike from the upper sites. Staff was most helpful and don't forget the 3 min ride to the entrance to Mesa Verde. We enjoyed both of our visits and would stay here again if in the area. momdoc. We camped at Ancient Cedars at Mesa Verde RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Vallecito Resort, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV resort. It is about ¼ mile from Lake Vallecito and the damn. It is about 20 miles from Durango. I cannot say enough about the staff. They are amazing starting with the fact they found a spot for us for July 4th week with a 1 hour notice on the day we arrived after having to abandon our previously reserved RV park as it the site was un usable. The site was small and narrow but very deep so we "lived in front of the rig with no problem. Once we settled in anything we need or wanted was taken care of with a smile. The campground is very clean and extremely well maintained. The resort is probably 75% seasonal or fulltime campers but still plenty of day/week users. Some of the sites are tight but most had enough room for a campfire, picnic table and a sitting area. Restrooms were clean as was the two laundry area. We were there July 4th and there was small parade of seasonal owner's decorated golf carts and a huge picnic put on by the resort. My only negatives were showers that were too small. poor cable reception (but that seemed to be a problem at out site only and they are aware of it) and poor internet access If in the area we would stay here again. momdoc. We camped at Vallecito Resort in a Motorhome.

Alpen Rose RV Park, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Alpine rose campground First the pros: The grounds looked well kept and clean. That is it for the pros. Now the Cons: 1We made reservations in April for a shady, level site. When we arrived our site was shady (but not where you had to park the RV) and not anything close to level. Though other sites appeared to be more level. The management comment was..."the campground is on the side of a mountain" 2. Site was basically unusable. No where level and in fact I not get level. That was just front to back. The pitch of the site we did not even get to. 3. Utilities (water, electric) are shared between sites and the sewer was so far away I would need a 20 ft run. Plus it was all uphill. Sorry but empting you tanks uphill does not work 4. With the units coming into sites in opposite directions (because of the Utilities) you shared a common space between rigs and a "community dining area). 5. The staff was pretty useless as well and told us "the site is fine). 6. They also advertise wi-fi...don't believe it. 7. So we made arrangements at another resort and left. We were told we were going to be charged one night stay and a cancellation fee. What ????? For a site we could not use???? Nor could anyone else. It was not what we were led to believe we had reserved. I would not stay here again. We camped at Alpen Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Page Lake Powell Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for two nights while touring the area and visiting Antelope Canyon (a must do). This is a gavel park with sites having room for the MH and tow vehicle. The sites were somewhat close but fairly level and all utilities worked well. With little shade and an all gravel site it was a bit warm with the day temps in the low 100s for our stay. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. It was nice having the indoor pool as well. The park more than served it purpose and if in the area again we would probably stay here again. momdoc We camped at Page Lake Powell Campground in a Motorhome.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here for 5 days with our motorhome and the only complaint I had was the heat. The temp was between 108-114 for the entire stay. A bit to warm to do much hiking (other than early in the morning which we did) or bike riding. There are a ton of trails in the park and some that connect to other trails outside the park. The hosts and rangers were great with lots information to share. For those camping the sites are big and most in the Quail loop had a good amount of shade but some of the pull through sites were a bit close. We were in #17 and loved it. The bathrooms are clean, and showers are very good with lots of hot water. There is also a wash sink at the bathrooms for dishes if you wanted. We would stay here again if in the area. momdoc. Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area, Show Low, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice camp ground and good location for the area. The park and lake are beautiful. The campground was well maintained, clean and restrooms were great. The sites in our look (Teal) were a bit funky with shared common back in. One site much deeper than the second one so there was some separation and we got used to it. Over all a very nice stay and we would stay here again. We camped at Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Tombstone RV Park and Campground, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

A very clean RV park that is less than a mile from town. They are supposed to have shuttle to town but we never inquired as we have a tow vehicle and parking town is very easy and free. The sites are big, most are pull through and quite wide and deep. Parking the car at the site was no problem. The restrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. If fact the entire campground is well maintained. The only unfortunate part was there was poor to no cable TV. In fact they have removed it from their list of amenities. The Cable company (I believe it is Cox Cable) is pulling out of town by the end of the month so no upkeep on the system. We had no service and only 3 oddball channels on our HD antenna. So unless you have Dish or Direct TV system do not count on TV. But we don't camp for TV and found plenty of other things to keep us busy. I would camp here again if ever in the area. momdoc. Fort Willcox RV Park, Willcox, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights. Our site was big enough (pull through) for both the MH and the tow vehicle. Site was level, gravel and had a picnic table as well. Bathrooms (one male one female) were clean but I was a bit taken aback by the 50 cent shower fee. The owners were attentive and answered multiple questions about places to see and things to do. She checked on us every day to make sure all was working well. The Cable and Electric were fine with lots of cable stations to chose from. The waffles and coffee in the morning was a nice touch as well. If in the are would camp here again. I should say it looked much nicer than the other parks we passed in town momdoc. Coachlight Inn & RV Park, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

RV park is behind an old somewhat rundown motel. It is an open gravel lot with multiple sites. All are pull full and pretty long (we did not have to unhitch). Electric and water worked fine. The showers are an old dingy motel room and could really use some sprucing up. Lots of full time folks living here as well. But a good one night stop when traveling. Four or 5 other rigs pulled in for the night as well. momdoc. We camped at Coachlight Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We camped here for 4 days at an ocean side site. There are is also a river campground with more secluded sites. The park was beautiful and our site was terrific with views of the dunes and beautiful sunsets. The sites are close together but no worse than other campgrounds we have stayed in. The fort was quite interesting and well restored. A nice piece of preserved American history. A must see if in the area. We would stay here again if in the area. momdoc. Be careful driving the main road as many trees are pretty low and if you are too close to the side of the road you may lose something from the roof or scrape you RV
