Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground, Altoona, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Like others have said, it is a little strange to have no office on site and have them guide you in my phone. But, the place was beautiful, everything was clean, landscaping was manicured and everything was well taken care of. A picnic table would have been nice but not a requirement. Lady was very friendly over the phone and when I asked about a receipt, emailed me one within minutes. Very, very quiet at night and quite relaxing. Will definitely stay here again when I am in the area. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Pine Harbor Campground, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty much the same as others have said, small place run by the owners, lots of seasonal people. Owners were super nice and helpful. My spot was dirt and grass but very level and easy to back in to. Everything was very clean and tidy. Water and electric only at my site but that was not a problem, dump station on the way out. Very pretty and quiet surroundings, lots of nice trees. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pine Harbor Campground in a Motorhome.

Driftwood Campgrounds, Quincy, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean, concrete pads and patios at site, very level. Owner very friendly and helpful. Lots of big open spaces for kids to run or walking dogs. Quiet... heard a train far away a couple of times but didn't bother me. Huge park across the street. Seasonal (or full-time) campers sites were clean and organized, not an eyesore like a lot of places. Definitely staying here again. Wifi extremely slow but owner acknowledged this at registration. We camped at Driftwood Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Viking Village Campground & Resort, Stoughton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a huge place, and I don't mean in the number of sites. There are two large grassy fields in front (and about a hundred geese when I was there), lots of space between sites, and lots of grass and trees all around. Nice little miniature golf course, nice pool area, and plenty of room for kids to run around. Lady at office was super friendly and helpful. Park was extremely clean and well cared for, grass was mowed and trees were trimmed. Only there for one night but will definitely stay there again. We camped at Viking Village Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

Salina KOA, Salina, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, small, older, established park. Staff was very friendly on check-in, they were having a network issue but didn't get flustered and apologized a lot. Three dog parks on site, one of which was very large. Grass mowed, trash kept picked up, park very clean, wifi worked well. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.

Mount Rushmore KOA, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Repeating some of what others have said: The park is HUGE with lots of activities going on. There is never lack of something to do. Two pools, one adult only. Stores and restaurants on site. Restaurant was not bad... not the best I've ever had, but not bad. My site was a back-in close to the kids play area, but the noise was never too bad... it kind of blended in with the surroundings. My site was very large with a lot of grass on both sides and behind. Some of them were pretty close together, though. Fenced in dog park that needs a little care like filling in the cracks and holes, I thought my dog tore up her knee once. Staff was very friendly, everyone I interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. Someone was always driving around cleaning or picking up. I was close to one of the bathrooms and it seemed like a crew came by 3 or 4 times a day to clean them. Car rental on site... I paid 70 bucks for a day for a car with 110,000 miles on it, but it was clean and drove well. Rental guy was good about providing directions and advising on points of interest. They do charge $3 a day per dog. There is also a $10 per day resort fee. I get that running a place like this requires a lot, but just add it to the cost of a site and don't throw in all the add-ons. I didn't use many of the "resort" features, but still had to pay 10 bucks a day over the price to stay there. Don't know about other carriers, but there is NO Verizon signal here, except when I would be out walking my dog I would walk through somewhere that got enough of a signal a test might come through. No cable TV (at least at my site) and no antenna reception. Phone and TV are not their fault and are not counted in this review, just mentioned. It was actually quite nice having no phone or TV for a few days. Wifi was available but was achingly slow. All in all, a great place, especially if you have kids, and I would stay there again. We camped at Mount Rushmore KOA in a Motorhome.

Stopped for an overnight. Staff I dealt with was very friendly, park was extremely clean, and all hookups worked. Wifi was pretty fast. Park was pretty quiet. Lots of trash cans spread throughout. Not a bad stop at all. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Motorhome.

Autumn Woods RV Park, Rochester, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Pulled in late afternoon and left pretty early the next morning. Staff was very friendly, park was extremely clean, site was level. Grass was well kept and park was very quiet. I would like to stay longer next time and explore a bit, and if I get the chance, I will stay here. Was very happy with the service and staff. We camped at Autumn Woods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Albuquerque Central KOA, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Easy in and out from I-40. In what appears to be a pretty sketchy part of town, but completely fenced in and gate closed at night with guard. Site was clean and level. Cable worked well and wifi wasn't bad. Two dog parks that are both cross-fenced, so essentially four. Staff I spoke with was very friendly. Would stay there again, but not at that price. Like others have said, a little pricey for what you get. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Motorhome.

Hitch-N-Post RV Park, Kanab, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, small place in the middle of town. Easy to walk to shopping, restaurants, and laundromat. Second time I have stayed here when going to Best Friends. Hosts were very friendly and easy to get along with. Spaces are a little tight, but I am okay with that given how nice and clean it is. All hookups worked well, site I had was easy to back in to, and was level. Lots of shade trees. Plan on staying here every time I am in town. We camped at Hitch-N-Post RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Much to do, I highly recommend a visit to Best Friends. The pizza place next door was quite tasty and Nedra's down on the corner was delicious!

LanKels Lazy Days, Litchfield, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Large place, lots of shade trees, water and electric only at site. Gravel pads, level. Very nice lady at check-in, nice guy escorted us to our site, manager (or host) came by to check on us. A lot of seasonal or permanent people, not many there this night, but everyone who drove by waved or stopped to chat. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Just overnighted and didn't check out the whole place, but what I saw was very clean and tidy. Some seasonal people have a lot of stuff (golf carts, patio furniture, etc...) but everything was put up or covered and did not have the junky appearance you get with a lot of places full of seasonal people. Will definitely stay here again! We camped at LanKels Lazy Days in a Motorhome.

Cozy Corners Campground, Oglesby, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Yes, it is right next to a road, but very quiet at night. It is all grass, with a few concrete sites. It is all 50 amp, but he will offer you a reducer if you need one and don't have one. It was level, very, very clean, and the friendliest owner I have seen at an RV park. He helped us get set up and offered to loan us anything we might need but didn't have. Fantastic place for the night or to use as a base for any activities around. I will definitely stay here again when passing through. We camped at Cozy Corners Campground in a Motorhome.

Wichita Falls RV Park, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Older place but very well kept. Staff was very friendly as I got there about 5 minutes before she went home, but she was happy and helpful and took her time. Park was very clean. Big dog area with lots of painted fire hydrants, but would be nice if they fenced some of it in to allow your pup of leash. Lots of grass and trees. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Wichita Falls RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coyote Keeth's RV Park, Clayton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

No management on site, honor system in use. Very clean. Someone turned part of their cattle pasture into an RV stop and it is quite nice. Small but decent stopover. All hookups worked well. VERY quiet. Covered horse stalls available and small pond. Sprinklers set up everywhere to water grass. A picnic table would be nice. Will definitely stop here again.
