Wine Country RV Resort, Paso Robles, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean park with nice facilities and well-maintained landscaping. Sites are concrete pads and are pretty close together. Wifi is very slow (even for downloading mail) and can be tricky to sign into. Cable TV is not the channels on the sheet they give you, and there are no news channels available. Pool and hot tub are kept clean. Upper mesa will be noisy as it is right next to the main road. We camped at Wine Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Short drives to many great wineries in this region which is on a par with the Napa Valley. Daou has the best views of any winery, but it is quite expensive for tasting.

Antlers RV Park & Campground, Lakehead, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Check in staff answers your questions, but does not volunteer much information about things. So, if its your first time there you will miss out on details like wifi password, dock closing time, etc. Security staff however is very friendly and will even bring you ice after hours. Basic hook-ups all worked well, but cable is only a few fuzzy channels--and no sports or news. Our (and many other) site had broken concrete slabs, easily something you could fall on. Boat dock is well maintained and you can get a key to access after they shut it for the evening. They also launch your boat for you ($45 in/out) and are prompt and courteous about it. Not their fault, but the campground is very close to train tracks and trains do go through during the night. We camped at Antlers RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The attraction here is the lake which is very full this year. Be careful as there is construction on a bridge near the campground which affects boat traffic.

Bass Lake RV Resort, Bass Lake, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nice wooded park. There are pull-throughs if you desire easy access, back-ins amongst the trees if you are looking for a more rustic experience. All hook-ups worked well, including cable tv. Clean but small swimming pool, clubhouse, and kids game rooms. Park offers some meals (extra cost but very reasonable) during busy times. Good wifi in certain places within the park, Verizon cell service fair. Certainly not the parks fault, but they did have to cut down a number of dead trees due to the drought years which just ended. We camped at Bass Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pines Village, where there is a grocery store and a few restaurants, and Bass Lake are a walkable distance or a very short drive. Yosemite National Park southern entrance about 10 miles away. Oakhurst about a 10 minute drive offers 2 full supermarkets and a number of restaurants and gas stations.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Tower Park, Lodi, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

This park has been recently renovated and overall the renovations are excellent. Electric worked well and no problems with sewer or water. Many sites have concrete pads, there is a nice dog park, and the pools are in very good condition. They also have play structures and a big bouncy inflatable for kids. They gave us "express" check-in: i.e. we followed one of their staff to our site and then could do the paperwork later. Overall, the staff was very friendly, no complaints there.

Problems we had were: cable not working, docks usable but needing renovation, and there was a big tree branch sticking out into our site that meant I had to back in very carefully and orient myself in a certain way to avoid hitting it. So, they need to go around and trim branches from the sites. For what they are charging, they need to do better with that. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Tower Park in a Motorhome.

The Fair Park RV - Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton, California

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

It's a parking lot with hook-ups, but everything works well and the staff is very nice. No issues with electric, water, or sewer. Wifi is the best I've ever seen in an rv park. Great location if you're attending an event at the fairgrounds or need to be in Pleasanton/Livermore. We camped at The Fair Park RV - Alameda County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.
