We live just an hour away and decided to get season passes and camp. Over all I really like this campground. The location is great, right off the Hwy and close to stores. The pull through sites are good and actually the back in sites looked pretty good as well. Somewhat close but I have seen much worse. The people were super nice and this is definitely family friendly!! The pool is small and only stayed open till 7. The shuttle ran every 30 minutes, doesn't fit many but they do have two and will come back and get you if you don't all fit. Lots of shade spots and great for tents/pop ups. The bathrooms were clean at the beginning of the week, although showers could use some bleach. Being a holiday weekend, come Sunday night they needed some attention and TP!!! Love that we could go back and forth from Carowinds to campground to eat and get out of the heat. You can bring your golf cart if you have one. We really enjoyed our weekend and had lots of fun! We will definitely be back!!

The folks are very friendly! The beach area is absolutely the best we have been to. Great pier for fishing. Watch the cruise ships (HUGE) go out from port or the submarines. Dolphin's everyday! Life guard on duty! Campground was clean along with bathhouse. Large shower area. Not a lot of sewer hook up site if I can remember and ask about the pups before you come. Some said there was a size restriction and they could only be left in a 5th wheel or motorhome should you head to the beach etc. Did see pup there but I did here they were strict about it. No campfires which was a bummer but we understood but there is a grill at every site. No paths to the bathhouses so you did walk through sites. But great playground and gates out for easy access. Guard on duty at all times at the front. You do have noise from the casino boats. 1 o'clock last one comes in and the band is loud and the people leaving are louder. Get one closer to the beach area and you'll be good. Most were shaded some smaller then others but not bas at all. We absolutely LOVED this campground and wish we were closer!

This is the greatest campground! The sites are large, the bathrooms immaculate. The southern hospitality was amazing! Great to walk around and the park had so many activities it took a week to even see them all. A great waterpark just across the way, walking distance, that you get a discount if camping, was wonderful even with a little one. I could walk back to the site for naps and lunch. Grocery store and restaurants short driving distance. Just 10 minutes from downtown and the Pier. The only part negative about the park are the roads getting there. VERY tight and not sure how the motorhomes & big tag a longs made some of the turns. I would go earlier or later in the year since it was too hot for a campfire and we felt stuck inside some of the time due to the heat. But this is a MUST STAY for anyone going to Charleston!

We have been going to this campground for a few years. We had always camped in the "older" area and this was GREAT! Close to the swim area, slide and pavilion area. If you are able to get in these sites there is great shade. The new area in in an open field with NO shade what so ever and gets VERY hot. BUT you do get great bathroom/shower area. The sites are also pretty close in the new area as well. Being first come first serve we have never had a problem on a regular weekend getting in. They have a dance Fri/Sat nights which everyone attends. The water slide is a little pricey and has to be paid each day. We never have paid to swim but the water hole is VERY cold and I never could get myself or my kids in. The old area has a great stream going through the park, but do watch out for snakes. I'll go back if I can get in the "old"part otherwise I will goo to a field closer to home.

We have camped here for the past few years and keep going back since our son loves it. The lower camping area is the best place to be. Close to the VERY cold swim area, Very small pool, camping store and pavilion. The swim hole is shallow and is great for kids of all ages. The pool is very small for those looking for something a little warmer. The waterslide is the best part for the kids but expensive ($10 a day)for what it is. But the kids do love it! At night the pavilion area is the place to be whether it is for dancing, football, basketball this is where you will find everyone.
