Clayton Lake State Park, Clayton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean park lots of primitive sites as well as 6 Pull Thru & 2 Back In containing water & 20/30amp Boat ramp & fishing dock Shelters at each site, various nearby vault toilets ( very clean) trails and site with Dinosaur Tracks (1/2 mi walk) Ranger patrols often. .RV campground road has a hill with speed bumps Sites are narrow to get in but very level gravel/dirt I was there in a 32ft TT and site was long enough to accommodating both trailer & tow vehicle without unhooking Will stay at this CG again. We camped at Clayton Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Dinasour tracks was with the walk..sign says 1/4 mi but it's really 1/2 mi but it's an easy walk Good fishing from the dock and also along the banks, nice hiking trails. Road coming from town of Clayton is narrow with a couple of steep hills & 15 mph curves and uneven pavement. It's about a 12 mi drive from town Speed bumps keep people from driving too fast which was an added enjoyment Nice quiet friendly park

AOK Camper Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This would be a nicer park if the trash was picked up by management. We were surprised being a Passport America referral that it would be better managed There is no office the only contact I had with mgt was over the phone There is a box with pay envelopes but I paid at the store across the street They accept cash or credit cards Sites are gravel and pretty much level, water pressure was good. All sites are pull thru and full hookups 20/30/50 Long enough to accommodate my tow vehicle without unhooking. No cable but 20 channels of OTA WiFi was sporadic as I kept getting notices on my laptop that range was to far away from connection The password given on the notice board was not correct and I informed mgt but they didn't seem to be concerned Seemed to be many long termers and old trailers scattered about Roads in park could use grader support Would be a nice park if some TLC were applied Sufficient for an overnite stay is the best I can advise. We stayed here in a 32ft Travel Trailer. We camped at AOK Camper Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rita Blanca City Park, Dalhart, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

There are 8 FHU Pull Thru sites Gravel mostly level Nice view of the lake and a small pond where you can catch fish. They restock every 3-4 months. Children's playground and couple of trails around the lake Market nearby about .5 mi Water pressure was good a picnic table with overhead cover nearby $15 per day & $3 Dump site payable in advance there is a box with pay envelope for cash or Cheque to deposit where employee picks up everyday and checks on campers Well lit area but lots of traffic up and down the road to the lake by the same vehicles numerous times and a few of the locals seem to think it's a race track No alcohol permitted in the Park Entrance does not show where the RV area is so you go straight in until you see a brown bldg and stay left of it and you will come to an empty parking lot and see the hookups Lots of room to pull in We were the only ones there, staying for 2 nites to wait out 50mph winds on the way to CO Would be a little nicer Park if the would keep the trash left by locals under better control Would stay there again Stayed in a 32ft travel trailer. We camped at Rita Blanca City Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wayne Russell Park, Floydada, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

First 2 days are FREE then $10 a day after for whatever length of stay. Register at City Hall after you unhook. Very helpful staff at City Hall 8 sites that are 20 & 30 amp Only and a easily accessible dump at back of CG as well as 2 large garbage bins Very level gravel pull thru sites I had no problems with a 32' Travel Trailer and Pull Truck in this spot without unhooking. Nearby dollar store & eating places. Next door is a gas station where you can also top off propane tanks, nearest Wal-Mart is 25 mi in Silverton. Everyone I met in this town was super friendly and helpful. I stayed a week during spring break waiting for Caprock Park to become available. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Texas again and visit local businesses. We camped at Wayne Russell Park in a Travel Trailer.

Coleman RV Park, Brownfield, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

There were 16 sites with water & electric, only 2 had 50 amp the rest were 20&30amp. Water pressure was good. Sites were easily accessible and pretty level in dirt. Located in a city park the is room for dog walking on a leash and children to play. You can stay 5 days Free and there is a donation box near the dump site. Maintenance workers drive thru often and always wave and are very friendly and helpful. I was there in a 32ft travel trailer and stayed 5 days and frequented the businesses in town. There is a gas station/convenience store 1 blk away. Only surprise I found was the Wal-Mart in town had been closed but still showed on GPS. Will definitely stay here again! We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Quite a few dollar stores and a United Supermarket within a couple of miles. Local Farmers Coop has propane refills at a flat $15 rate and was only place I saw. Big flat parking lot if you don't want to unhook. Friendly small town and streets in downtown are actually made of Red Bricks

Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

I did not like the conditions of the roads which were rutted, pothole, and full of tree branches and uneven at best. The site was not long enough and had to unhook tow vehicle to park. Observed other sites parking in empty sites next to them which would be a problem for someone coming in and setting up late at night if a vehicle were parked in your assigned site. With barking dogs, vehicles driving fast and cutting between empty sites, I felt permanent sites could do what they want but transit overnighters were held to a stricter standard. The sites were very uneven and I had to back up a hill to rehook. I would not stay here again since management doesn't seem to be interested in repairing the roads or they would have done it by now. We camped at Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Comanche Campground, Stinnett, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The person whom I dealt with was professional and yet friendly & personable. She made sure every thing was to my expectations and put me in a quiet spot that was very manageable for me to pull into since I am a newbie to RVing I stayed in a 32 ft travel trailer for a couple of days and enjoyed my stay. I will stay again when in this area.

The sites are pull thru and long enough for a tow vehicle to be included

However the door of the travel trailer to be accessible to the cement patio pad, creates connectivity problems on the sewer connection side even with a long hose. We camped at Comanche Campground in a Travel Trailer.
