Mountain Shadows RV Park, Draper, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was on the main road, long pull through site, with mature trees. These are "Buddy sites" and the space/slide distance between our non-buddy's 5th wheel and our MH was about 2 ft. It was easy enough to get in and out of with our 45FT MH. Our section was not as noisy as the front/road side of the park. Trees blocked our satellite, OTA was ok TV channels. Used our own internet. At about 3:30-6:30pm every day we experienced a voltage drop (at our 50 amp site) to 105 Volts, causing our air conditioners to turn off) probably for the high demand of air conditioners, etc. We adjusted and used our Coleman camp stove! It was unusually hot here-high 90's. This park is a mixture-the permanent residents' homes include tiny and Modular homes and some TT, 5ers, MHs are in the park back and sides and all other RV's are towards the front. We left our kayaks and chairs out-didn't feel unsafe at all. The police did cruise through daily. If in this area again, we will consider other campgrounds but won't rule out staying here again for it's convenience and location. 5 days is probably the max though. Office staffer was a 'trainee'. She did very well explaining rules, etc. We camped at Mountain Shadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Traveland RV Park, Logan, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in a 45' MH. F/H/U pull through. Campground is behind a Comfort Inn-not affiliated. This park has 'buddy' sites. You also share your picnic table with your 'buddy'. Many "long term" and "seasonal" Rv's, people going to work every morning/returning in evening. We felt safe but didn't leave anything out. We would stay here again. We camped at Traveland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful college town in the Wasatch Mountain Range. Drive the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway to Bear Lake. Stop at Tony Grove Lake for a 1.1 mile hike or kayak around this beautiful glacial lake. Bear Lake is stunning! Have a Raspberry Shake at LeBeau's Sweet Shop! We traveled by Jeep to Ephraim's Grave-Google Ephraim Bear story. Great Razor or 4 wheeler trails all around. If you enjoy boondocking there are many places in the canyon for it.

North Bingham County Recreation Area, Shelley, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in a 45ft MH-stayed 6 days/over Eclipse 2017 date. Electric and Water only, dump station. Water pressure was low. Nice grounds, walking/bike trail across the street. Staff were friendly, helpful and very busy! Administrative Office Staff was very helpful. Bathroom wasn't very clean though. Black mold in women's shower-really need a strong fan or bleach it off daily. We camped at North Bingham County Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

This area was 'poopy' smelling in the early evenings and the flies were annoying. Idk why. Go to Idaho Falls: Farmer's Market, Idaho Brewery, Frosty Gator for Gyros! Hike Cress Creek Nature Trail, Heise Golf Course restaurant & hot springs were GREAT! Visit the Hell's Half Acre Lava Field, hike, with hiking boots, Menan Butte-last leg of it is miserable. Shelley: Broulim's Grocery is clean and organized.

Mountain View RV Park, Columbia Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Close to all things Glacier National Pk. Grass between sites was overgrown, sewer drain too high, picnic table was unusable. Many full time workers and seasonal campers, they kept to themselves. Felt safe and no one bothered our outdoor 'stuff'. No play ground for kids. Must be a septic field problem as a Septic pumper truck came twice while we were here to pump out the park tanks. Over priced for what it is. Office building and grounds were neat and clean but camper sites were neglected. OK for an over night or two. We will look elsewhere when we pass through here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Glacier entrance about 45 minute drive. Kayak on Hungry Horse Reservoir. Columbia Falls Thursday night farmers market: lots of food trucks and artist tents but not much farm stuff. Kalispell has every box store and chain food restaurant imaginable, Whitefish 'resort' town was hip but expensive. We used Auto Glass Wash and Wax in Whitefish to repair a chip in our windshield. $9.95 great work and the price was right!

Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights. Office staff were pleasant. Roads were easy to navigate with 45 ft MH and toad. Drive slowly and the dust will stay down. It's a dirt campsite but we dealt with it. Pull through sites for MH were very close. Sewer hose was next to picnic table. It was hot so we ate indoors and put lawn chairs in front of MH. We couldn't get OTA TV or satellite (trees). But we were busy sight seeing, at going to the Musical. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is beautiful. Nice visitor center and drive. Buck Hill is spectacular. We heard coyotes! It showered lightly and was a bit muddy but we hiked many trails anyway. Attended the Medora Musical, it's not something we usually go to and we were surprised at the price even with a senior d/c. It was ok. Medora doesn't have grocery store so stock up before you stay here. We would stay here again.

Lindenwood Park, Fargo, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

CG in a park! We camped in Section A during the week for one night. We d/c our toad and drove through the park and talked to management before we entered due to the construction. We didn't have problems navigating the detour or park roads in 45ft MH. Expressway traffic noise was loud at site. 50amp service was great-no sharing. Water was fine, it was a 'shared spigot' but we didn't have neighbors. Used over the air TV-too many trees for satellite. There are two "bath" facilities. The one in the Information Center was nice. We would stay here again. We camped at Lindenwood Park in a Motorhome.

Great walking park. Some folks were fishing in the Red River. Nice Roger Maris memorial (on the park property) and there is a museum (he was a baseball player that hit 61 home runs in 1961 season) at the West Acres shopping center. Good craft beer at Fargo Brewing Company. Very nice college campus.

We pulled in, no call ahead. Owner came right over. Stayed one night. Cash or check only. Nearby train tracks but they weren't a bother. We could navigate the interior road with our toad attached. Our site was a pull through long enough for 45 ft coach and toad. We had good shade. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.

Summer Breeze Campground, Iron Mountain, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We camped for one night in our 45 ft MH with toad. Pull through site with 30 amp and water. That's what was available when I called 2 months earlier. Spacious enough site, there was one lower branch on a pine tree but it just skimmed the roof. We could have gotten a 50 amp full hook up, and probably should have but we survived. It was a warm dry day in the high 80's. Decided to eat out instead of watching the voltage meters. Informative website! They are right, there were no bugs! We camped at Summer Breeze Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We hiked (short but it's a hill) Piers Gorge in Norway, MI. It was beautiful and we watched the white water rafters as we hiked. Wow! If you enjoy white water rafting go here! Ate dinner at Storheims in Iron Mountain. It was decent, not a chain, but it's a better breakfast venue. Too bad they only serve breakfast until 11:30am. They also have many flavors and ways to spice up custard!

Aune-Osborn Campground, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Newer shower/bath/laundry facility. Beautiful views of St Mary's river and ships. All sites had W/E. They had a dump station. Had to ask neighbor to move their truck as we couldn't make our pivot point while backing in-we have a 45ft MH. Otherwise it was easy to navigate through the park. Picnic tables were worn out, playground equipment was from the 60's. Grass sites now as any gravel they had is all buried deep in the ground. Very wet-standing water at sites after a heavy rain-pour drainage at many sites but no one got stuck. The fish flies (aka May flies) were horrible. Used our leaf blower to get them off the door, vents, slides, etc. They said they've had them all summer, very unusual. Friends at Soo Locks CG said they weren't as bad there. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff and campers. The pull through site had some trees to watch but our problem was pulling out. We have a 45ft HM. The site was slightly elevated and there was a concrete curb at the front of the site. To use the pull through as intended we would have scraped at a minimum our front lower right cap (bumper area) on the concrete drive. The back and side radiator probably would have scraped as well.So we had to back all the way out the way we came in. We could not back out and drive forward because again there was a concrete curb and immediate left turn. We would probably still return here but ask to see the site beforehand. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

2 night min. 2% extra charge for using a credit card on sales over $100. Site was supposedly 50ft-but our 45ft MH with tow bar spilled over onto the site behind us and our mirrors crept out into the road. Not very inviting site, just a lot, no trees/shade, no patio or table. We were ok with that since we spent our time at our daughters home. Over priced for what it is but less than the other parks nearby. Good Verizon signal. Wifi worked well. About 99% are seasonal/long term sites-everyone was friendly. We'd go back because our daughter lives nearby. We camped at Topsail Sound RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is the home of Andy Griffith-of Mayberry. Town features a museum, it was closed when we arrived (kinda pricey IMHO) there is a statue of Andy and Opie out front. You can also drive by his childhood home-it's a B&B now. There is also a granite mine on the outskirts of town.

Hocking Hills State Park, Logan, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We are a 45 ft MH with toad. The drive on 664 was slow, windy, sharp turns, no shoulder, no room for errors! The drive up the hill to the campsites in the park was not much better. HUGE SHOULDER SIDE POTHOLE on the exit side. Disconnected our toad at the office area. Only potable water is at the office area. We called for reservations to be certain we'd fit. We were approved for site 116 in the Electric only (FHU had no availability). We needed a shoe horn to get into it, fellow campers helped guide us in. It was a horribly unlevel site. Tow was parked on grass area. To get in the sites you have to drive past your site and turn around at the playground and come back. The next day we moved to a slightly more level site in the FHU area for the next 4 nights. To back in FHU sites, you have to drive down around the water tower and come back to your site. We just fit, tow was on mud/gravel/grass (?) next to us. We used boards and jacks to get within 3" of level. MH felt like the 'slanting house' fun spot. We have been camping for over 30 years and never seen water hook ups like they have here. Learned something new! The FHU area has newer W/S/E and picnic table patios. 99% of the sites need a complete overhaul to make them level. The main road coming in needs repair and a shoulder. We suggest they add speed bumps or something to slow people down-some child or pet is going to get killed! We camped at Hocking Hills State Park in a Motorhome.
