Emily Provincial Park, Peterborough, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 8 days. Older Provincial Park than we have been in. Site was called a pull through but it would be hard to do that. Motorhome barely fit across site on the only level spot. However it was plenty wide with room for the tow dolly and car. Any bigger RV would have a problem. The roads were at one time asphalt but are now all broken up and rutted. Keeps the speeding down though. Walk to the beach and boat launch area was not outrageous from the hill top sites. We found it funny that the camp store was so far away from the actual camp sites. It's located in the day use area. Needed a bike or car to get to it from the campgrounds. They could have sold more ice cream and kept the 3 summer students manning the place a little busier. Forget the laundromats. Only 2 old washers. One of 2 dryers was broken. My major complaint is that they have not made allowances for larger rigs. The trees are overhanging the road ways into the sites. We have some new scars in the form of scratches high up on the side of the coach from tree branches that protruded onto the roadways. They have built a new dump station and water fill site which is quite nice. However someone came up with the bright idea to cut the fittings off the rinse hose at the dump station so you can't attach it and flush the black tank. It's only good for flushing out the hose. Don't think we will visit again and wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has tall motorhome or 5th wheel. We camped at Emily Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Regardless of the park conditions there was plenty of places to see outside the park. Bobcaygeon was very nice on a Sunday afternoon. Great view of Lock 32. Downtown Lindsay was also a nice trip.

Arrowhead Provincial Park, Huntsville, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the better Provincial Parks we've been in. We were in a fairly new section with about 8 pull-throughs. The site was great with plenty of room for the coach and car. As with most Provincial Parks we only had electricity (50Amp) although there was a water spigot at each of these sites. They were gravel as compared to sand and dirt in the other campgrounds. It was also shady enough for the warm days. It's a big park area wise. Actually have to drive to the beaches or store. Fishing was pretty good in the main lake (Arrowhead Lake) with quite a few large mouth bass caught and released. We would stay here again for that closer to nature camping. Only drawback was there were no laundry facilities. Had to go into Huntsville for that. Unfortunately there was a fire ban on so missed the campfire. We camped at Arrowhead Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Shangri-La Park Campground, St. Catharines, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a month in a pull through site. There are about 50 sites for transients. The rest are seasonal. Park is well located in the 20 Valley wine region. Sites were pull through back to back which didn't appeal to us. We did luckily have a good neighbor though. Overall the sites were level and maintained but there was no shade and it was exceptionally hot the month we were there. The power was 30 Amp which was sufficient except for the July 1st hot holiday weekend when the voltage kept dropping and we had a hard time running the A/C. The pool is too far away unless you have a cart to get down to the valley. Can't figure why it's so far out off the way and it's only open July and August. There are no sewer hookups but there are pump-outs ($8.00). Since we were there for a month we had to us this. Overall the park was reasonable but I don't think we will stay again for. Lack of shade, inaccessible pool and no sewer hookups were draw backs. We camped at Shangri-La Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Shady Pines RV Park, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Only stayed one night but will have to look at a longer stay in the future. Small park but had concrete sites with patio and table. Great utilities and superior (for an RV park) Wifi. Check in was easy, although no one was at the office. Trusted you to pay later. Sweet lady doing the check-in. Nice pond on site with fountain. RV sales office next door. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sunbury / Columbus North KOA, Sunbury, Ohio

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Just a one night stop over on our way back from wintering in the south. The park had just opened for the season the week before so it was still quiet. Wish we could have spent more time there. The site was great and the utilities all worked well. We did have to shut the water down one night because of freeze warnings but it didn't affect us because we had enough onboard. We would stay there again but unfortunately the park is closed when we will be heading down south in November. We camped at Sunbury / Columbus North KOA in a Motorhome.

Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Originally it was to be just an over nighter but due to ice storms north of there in our home town we stretched it to 4 nights. Sites and services were great including Wifi. Plenty to see in the area while we waited out the storms. Our dogs loved the dog park. It was an easy on and off the highway. We will stay there again on our way down south this coming winter. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Summer House Park, Miller Lake, Ontario

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Really enjoyed the stay. The site was excellent with plenty of shade. Not crowded at all. Had a very woodsy feel. Main roads in were asphalt and the sites were gravel and level. Nice store and cafe on site. Great lakefront beach on Miller Lake. Even had a dog beach. We were just 30 minutes to Tobermory or 30 minutes south to Wiarton. Would definitely go back again. We camped at Summer House Park in a Motorhome.

Ivy's Cove RV Retreat, Russellville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find off I-40. Owner is like a one man band. He does everything and very friendly as well. We were in the new section that has recently been open. Good services, well located. Sites are gravel with grass between. Plenty of space to walk the dogs. For a small park the wifi was pretty good. We would stop again if we were heading that way. We camped at Ivy's Cove RV Retreat in a Motorhome.

Mustang Run RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Just off of I-40. Concrete pads and roadways. This park appeared fairly new. There was plenty of grassed area for the dogs and a dog park as well. The pool was closed which was a little disappointing since the temperature was quite warm while we were there. No toting the trash to a bin, there was daily pickup at your site. We camped at Mustang Run RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Overall Rating:

Very good park just off of I-40. We stayed for 5 days and enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and efficient. We especially enjoyed the pizza and wings we ordered from their kitchen the first night. The park was clean and well organized with the majority of the sites being pull-throughs. Nice grassed area for the dogs as well as a fenced dog park. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Havasu Falls RV Resort, Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this park for 5 days. It was a little pricey but that is the going rate to stay in Lake Havasu. The sites were clean with concrete pull-throughs and gravel in between. They were a bit tight. The staff and the park people were pleasant. They had a nice dog walk down the one side of the park. We were here to see Lake Havasu and the London Bridge so we didn't get to use the amenities. We visited Lake Havasu City downtown and lucked out. There was a meeting of the "Duece Coup Club" over 100 antique and vintage cars. Seems there is always something going on in Lake Havasu. We camped at Havasu Falls RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sky City RV Park, Acoma, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Great two day stop just off I-40 on our way back east. The sites were level and the electricity was stable. Wifi also was pretty good for an RV park. It was off season so the water was not available at the site but was at the office. Since we were only there 2 nights we didn't need it. Also as mentioned before you registered at the hotel office. There was no park attendant. No big deal, you just phoned and they picked you up. Great buffet meals at the casino for a reasonable price. We had the prime rib buffet on a Monday. It was great. We would use this as an overnight (or 2 night) rest stop again. We camped at Sky City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Verde River RV Resort & Cottages , Camp Verde, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

I appreciate the fact that the new owners are trying to create a beautiful park but at the time we were there it was just a run-down location with no amenities. True they were coming sometimes in the future. Their sign says spring 2017 (not a chance). For what we got the rate was way too high and they did not accept Good Sam's (even thought they have a Good Sam's rating). The sites were gravel and grass or should I say weeds. But they were level and the services were good (we had 50amp). There was no dog park. You had to walk them on the gravel roads. The grass was not really grass but some sort of prickly weed that the dogs refused to walk on. While we were there there was a lot of construction equipment used digging up septic tanks or grading the grounds of the yet to open club house pool and spa. Need I say dusty. I saw the drawings of what they want the park to be in the future but would not return until they occurred. The rate is too high for what they have now. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here at the end of February for 5 days. It was a great stay. We were very please. The people were friendly and took is right to our site. When we found we couldn't level the coach they immediately moved us to another. The cable TV was the best quality we have had and the wifi was adequate for an RV park. This is a gated community so thee is a secure feeling. The beach along the Colorado river is great. We weren't there long enough but it seemed they had a lot of activities at the club house. We have put this one on the list for next year. We camped at Arizona Oasis RV Resort in a Motorhome.
