Abilene KOA, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

People in office were very nice. If you are bothered by road traffic, tell them you would like to be toward the back. We were in a pull thru, and were allowed to extend our stay for one night. Right on I-20 access road. WiFi was weak, but most are. The doggie park is real nice. We camped at Abilene KOA in a Motorhome.

Mesquite Tranquility RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We had 7 RVs in our group. We had stayed in Lajitas, Tx for 8 nights golfing and visiting Big Bend parks, both state and national. It's true, none of the spaces are marked with numbers, but the park manager directed each one of us personally to each spot, then we payed. We spent 3 nights at this park to see Marfa , Alpine and fort Davis. The park is new, and is basically just dirt with few trees. And no cable. Sites were long enough for motorhome stowing, and the Park has a free washer and dryer near a.firepit. The manager was very accommodating, and recommended restaurants in Alpine. La Casita for Mexican food and Reattach were both fantastic! Also, don't miss the shop called Alpine Teak for one of a kind team furniture. The sunsets were fantastic, it was 80 degrees there, and only got down to 40 's at night, while it was 14 degrees in Gainesville, Texas. Go burn a fire, and at dusk, Havelina and mule deer come to the area to eat. Very quiet, only a few long term trailers. Some sand burrs were found by our dogs, no dog park, but very nice owner and manager. Would stay there again. We camped at Mesquite Tranquility RV Park in a Motorhome.

Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort, Lajitas, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We went to Lajitas get out of the cold. while it was 20's at home, was 70's and 80's @ LAjitas. No Grass, but we got a very large site w/o cable. We had a large group, so always something to do. they accept dogs and have a nice doggie park. Golfing was a bit expensive, but nice course. Ziplining was scary, but fantastic and a must-do. Many of the shops @ LAjitas resort were closed. We were there for 10 nights and still didn't see everything the area has to offer. Sites had No trees, so Satelite dish worked great! Big Bend NAtional and Big Bend State park are 2 different parks and take a long time to tour the entire area. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

Fishermen's State Park and Campground, Narragansett, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $76.00
Overall Rating:

Ok...we drove in from Massachusetts...we had a 40ft motorhome...made the reservations about year in advance...When we got to our site, there was a hill right in the middle of the space...no way we could level it...there were no more spaces available...there were 3 spaces we had reserved and none were usable. We didn't even try to set up camp, they did credit our credit card, but never did get our hundred dollar deposit back. Highly suggest you Verify with a body at the campground whether the site is flat or not. Campground was clean and looked to be near water, but we never saw it. Also, very strict on check-in time. Near town and nice area. We camped at Fishermen's State Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake George RV Park, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

We loved the huge trees, but getting to a site, the roads are very narrow and turn are a bit too sharp in a 40' motorhome. We did unhook before we went back. Very clean, lots of walking trails and lots of hills on the walking trails. Easy to get to shopping and restaurants. We drove to Fort Ticonderoga and the drive was beautiful. Others golfed for a reasonable price around Lake George. No discounts, many other RV parks could not accommodate large 40' motorhomes. Lots to see in the area. We camped at Lake George RV Park in a Motorhome.

Blue Spruce RV Park & Cabins, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is north of Vallecito Lake. Much cooler up in the mountains and has lots of shade, but the park is far from anything other than the lake. 45 min to Durango. We had a premium site which was right at the front of the property, which was a pull thru and faced a large rock face which was pretty cool! Clean park, lots of kids, activities to do thru the week. We liked to park, but it was quite a way from everything! owners/workers very nice but no doggie park. We camped at Blue Spruce RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Little Creek RV Village, Alto, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to miss this park from the road.... our Navigation had the correct address, but wasn't correct and we missed the small sign. Turn around was not easy. Clean, friendly, adults only park, with no showers due to drought. Hummingbirds everywhere, not many scenic views, but seasonal Texas residents are friendly, and all are attempting to escape the heat at home. Well water is very hard, leaving a residue. Nice little doggie park, right next to a large ravine. Monthly price is good, but owner has health issues. Hosts are very helpful to owner and visitors. Wifi drops regularly, cable ok, not very clear, sites are somewhat level but pretty close. Everyone has at least one dog and we saw a seasonal visitor scold a new visitor because he was going faster than the posted 5 MPH. Weather was hotter than normal, but big shade trees which need trimming helped keep things cooler. Many signs so pet owners don't allow their dogs to defficate on what little grass there is but there is a nice little fenced in area as I mentioned before. We camped at Little Creek RV Village in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We only experienced a small portion of RUIDOSO. We did get to the racetrack which needs a face lift. Highly recommend Michael J's Italian Restaurant. A reservation is needed, but well worth it... opens at 5pm. Cornerstone Bakery, and Casa Blanca Restaurant had good food! We Didn't go to any of the historical sites this time, but my husband golfed at KOKOPELLI which was a par 3 golf course and cost $150!

Kanab RV Corral, Kanab, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Some of the RV spots are tight...the premium sites are partially shaded, and since trees are involved slideouts and awnings can be a problem, but with the shade, our back-in was great along the back of the property... we were in a 40' MH, and got 50amp service. If it is over 100 degrees and everyone in your row have 3 ACs, the manager said breakers could trip... but we never had any problem... other reviewers told of the tight spacing on the pull-thrus and recommended the premium back-ins, so that is what we did, got a back-in. The pool was clean, no fence along the back of the property, but it is apparent the new owners are updating as they can....it is a bit dusty if the wind is blowing...just needs a bit more gravel. This park was close to everything downtown and they just built a very nice dog park on the NW corner of the property. Grass and everything! We haven't seen much grass around Utah, Colo., and Arizona for the dogs or people so that was a nice surprise. We have looked around and not many other better places around.... sometimes you just have to not be so rigid...and read other peoples reviews before booking a site at a campground...they can give you some good insight! FYI...We ate at SEGOs in Kanab and it was fantastic! Tapas style! We camped at Kanab RV Corral in a Motorhome.

Goulding's Lodge & Campground, Oljato-Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Loved the views, right in a canyon with beautiful Red rocks on 3 sides. Pull thru Spaces were a bit tight in length, but our site, #30 was very wide, had trees which helped a lot....drink plenty of water if u are crazy like we were and went in the summer...temps were 106 on more than one day....best place to stay in Monument Valley....tours leave right from RV park...only downside is that there is no designated dog area...no grass, lots of dust... We camped at Goulding's Lodge & Campground in a Motorhome.

Mitchell Resort and RV Park, Perrin, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We had a pull-through site on the row closest to the putt-putt course and cabins. The site was wide, not much grass at site, no stickers, location we were at was perfect, but other campers felt the need to go through our site as a short cut about a dozen times a day even though we put our cars in the way to block foot traffic. That is the only negative. The only thing we could think of was to not rent one of the sites and make it a walkway to the other side for pedestrians. The golf course was a great par 3 course and the guys golfed 36 holes the day it was cool. We stayed here on Memorial Day weekend and the park was packed! They said they only had one cabin available. 3 pools are great, one just for adults is a definite plus. Putt-putt course was fun, challenging, cheap and well thought out. On Sunday evening, they had Terry E., an Elvis Impersonator who was fun, entertaining, and had us all singing along. They had some benches, and plenty of space under the trees at the stage to watch the show. Would stay there again when it was cooler and not on a national holiday. Great fenced in doggie park. We had a problem with a plug at our site and they sent someone right out to replace it the same day. Trash pickup was twice a day at each site. It was very clean and we had lots to do for adults and kids. Each pull-through had a charcoal or wood grill for cooking. We camped at Mitchell Resort and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

New park, office very busy on phones so had to wait, very accommodating, clean park, nice doggie park, store pretty well stocked. Trash pickup very punctual. Trees small which is good for satellite, bad for shade. would stay there again. We looked around at all of the parks in HOT SPRINGS vicinity and this is the best park in HOT SPRINGS! Stayed April 2016 but that was not an option on the date of stay. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.
